Before doing the retrofit I had no buttons around my gear stick, now I have the MMI 3G+ buttons around it. And no have not lost any functionality at all.
And as far as I have the kufatec harness has everything thats needed but I cant confirm this as I used my own loom.
The SD card should work well too, only problem is that the version of the Audi Concert radio the OP has in his car is quite an old one so I am guessing it would only support upto 4GB or 8GB SD card, any card bigger than that, it won't accept it.
The newer MMIs have capability of accepting upto...
You could go for the Tune2Air bluetooth plugin which essentially plugs into the AMI cable in your glove box and that can then connect to your phone for bluetooth streaming, this would be the easiest option (not the cheapest tho, but reliable as I have heard).
If you have a sim card slot in between the 2 SD card slots then you should have Google maps, also in the bottom corner it should say the Google logo on the Nav screen. If you dont have a sim slot then you won't be able to get google maps quite so easily.
MIrror works as above post!.....For maps yes you can go to Audi and pay for the maps update, not sure how much it is but dont expect it to be cheap....or you could do it yourself for free.... a couple of months after the official update has been released, there's always someone on the internet...
Its a 3G+ as in your screenshot in one of your posts it says HN+, that tells you its a 3G+ model
If you have an Aux input in your arm rest then you won't have the option of an AMI cable in your glove box (the one you saw in the A6), its a bit silly of Audi to do this that you can either opt...
Hmm, thats interesting, unfortunately I dont have a multimeter to measure the voltage and since I have the 3G+ MMI retrofitted I cant enable the battery monitor option.
Any other ideas to get that measured, what should it be?...any other indications of a weakening battery?
Hey guys,
I've just realised that there's a really weird issue that I am encountering with my car, its only recently I've realised this since I've retrofitted a rear view camera to it.
Basically issue being that when I start the car and while its still cold, the rear view camera doesnt work...
So update.....i rechecked the pins meant to be plugged into pin 5 and 11....stupidly I had them in pin 4 and 10 :sorry:
I put them into the correct positions, cleared the errors on the Camera module, MMI head unit and the Gateway and voila!....I finally have a working rear view camera!!!
Thanks...
yeah thats what I was thinking next to do, so I will try to swap these over today and see what happens.....so what would the negative FBAS be using if not the outer sheathing?!
nope as I didnt buy a premade loom...i just used some wires I already had....had a fakra cable so I cut one end of it split into 2 connections as mentioned above.
But the fault seems to suggest something wrong with the connection from from the green fakra to the 2 pins into the back of the MMI....how I have it is basically the inside wire of the fakra cable goes to the Pin 11 (FBAS wire (+) from reversing camera systemcontrol unit) and the outside...
Hey all, just picking out this old thread that i created to do my rear view camera retrofit.
I just had not had the time to fix the issues I had but now trying to get it to work, so I have it all plugged in and when I engage reverse gear the screen goes black with the warning message at the...
If you have a thumb joy stick in the middle of the big dial which allows you to pan the maps, then its a 3G/3G High, if you don't then its probably a 2G
Right ok well I'll have a closer look at it tonight to see if it's down to the metal or not
I am in London, so anywhere South East is pretty accessible.
You can easily get a days insurance, it from short term insurers that charge uber prices for a day....but its mainly for people that want to borrow someone'e car for a day or two or for people that have just bought a car privately and need to get it home before getting a proper insurance sorted out.
Ohk, I wouldn't have a clue where to start looking for that but I will try somehow....isn't there a risk of rust appearing since the scratch is down to the primer?....Would the touch up pens help in anyway?, and are they even available for the grey colour that I have?
