Another 2.0T FSI CCZA Timing Chain Tensioner Advice Thread..

Hi Sam, I've just had my recently bought A3 in at my VAG specialist having everything checked over and all missed service items like DSG & Haldex done. With your thread in mind I asked if I should have the tensioner changed as it's apparently prone to failure, but they said they weren't aware of...

Another 2.0T FSI CCZA Timing Chain Tensioner Advice Thread..

Damn, are these CCZA engines unreliable, I've just bought one?! I was feeling lucky they'd changed to chain since my last TFSI 5 years ago was belt, but now not so sure!

    Audi A3 1.6SE

Try and keep it in the family if you can, a decent low mileage Audi even if quite old will outlast most 2 grand motors I would say. If you must sell it you may as well ask for more unless it needs money spending on it, even though more normal mileage a3's of that age change hands for less.

    Cambelt price match....

In my experience, although the Surrey/South London dealers will do the £399 offer if you ask them, they don't want to do it even at that price, and they will point out that it is not for the "full cambelt service kit". They want £600 plus to do the job round here and asking about pricematching...

Back in Love with my Audi - thanks to Nigel!

Ok, 1st go at uploading pics... As Nigel says, the trickiest work is invisible, wiring, coding, repairing and the rest. The pics don't do it justice but they were taken on my phone. Can't see my illuminated door pulls!

Back in Love with my Audi - thanks to Nigel!

Even though my A3 has proved to be excellent, I've recently found myself involuntarily on the autotrader website looking for a new car. I rarely keep a car as long as a year, and I've had the Audi 18 months so she was on borrowed time! But after a makeover yesterday from Nigel (NHN), the car's...

Help! Interior swap for leather - how to get the rear door cards out on a 3dr?

After much faffing, I managed to get the rear panels swapped. But now I've had a problem swapping the front seats. My old seats had electric lumbar, the newer leather ones don't, but they are heated whereas my old ones weren't. So I was expecting the connector plugs to differ a bit and they did...

Help! Interior swap for leather - how to get the rear door cards out on a 3dr?

Hi all, I've got a nice full leather interior to replace the cloth in my 3dr A3 2.0TQ, but I've got limited knowledge and skills and I'm having trouble removing the rear door cards / side panels with the rear speakers covers in them. I have done lots of searches but can't really find a full How...

    Haven Holidays

I haven't been to Presthaven, but I've been to the Haven place in St Leonards, Coombe Haven a few times. If you read the reviews for Coombe Haven they are poor as well, but we've had a few good breaks there. I've just booked a 3-day break at the Haven place in Pagham, again some of the reviews...

Both Radiator Fans Pulsing On And Off

VAG fans are shyate unfortunately, they haven't made any that last properly since the MK3 Golf. The controllers are built into the fan, and they break down before the fan does. Buying new they are dear from the dealer, but they do crop up new on ebay from sellers like partdepot for about £70.

Is there a How To for swapping an interior?

I don't know if the mirrors had indicators, but they were folding, which mine aren't. Do you mean by repin moving pins out of the plugs?? I think I'd rather transfer all the old switches across seeing as I'm using my old looms anyway, I'm surprised I need to tho but if need be I will. Just don't...

Is there a How To for swapping an interior?

Can you tell me what that entails P5SND, the cards I've got have got a date of manufacture of 08/10/2008. I'm intending on using my old looms, do you think the mirror, window and lock switches will still throw a wobbly?

Xenon Lights - Auto Range Questions

I think auto range just means you don't have the light height setting switch, it's a legal requirement for factory fitted xenons. A sensor in the rear arch and another in the front determine the pitch(?) of the car, so you don't have to tell the car how it's loaded, and then the light module...
