The Valcona leather really is lovely, very happy with the upgrade. My main incentive behind the purchase was because I much prefer the look of smooth leather (Valcona) over the cheaper patterned/stamped leather (Volterra) on the SE seats. Another bonus is that the Valcona leather is a lot...
Thanks @Charlie Farley! I don't mind the colour of the white headliner, but the fact that everything is now solid black or aluminium, it looks so out of place. The hard cut from black to white is very jarring and cheapens the interior I think. Before when I had the two tone seats it wasn't an...
New interior fitted, massive thanks to @NHN for doing an amazing job as always! Couldn't be happier with the outcome.
However, the original white headliner now sticks out like a sore thumb. Looks very out of place. I may have just purchased a black headliner from a B7 that's being broken...
Will be following closely Rob, my brightwork looks a bit tired around the windows and would like to improve it too!
I know one of the most praised tools when wrapping is knife-less tape:
Means you don't have to go near your paintwork with a Stanley knife to cut the wrap anywhere near as...
Sorry chap, I'll soon have my current special edition full interior for sale if that's any good to you? Will do it very cheap as a fellow forum member before I put it on the bay.
Looking for £200 collected for all the seats + door cards.
I’ve been so much happier with my B7 since upgrading the horrid cloth interior to the silver/black Special Edition leather interior. It’s made the whole driving experience feel much more premium, but there was always a part of me that wanted to upgrade again to the even nicer Valcona leather...
Fantastic job @Charlie Farley, bet that will make such a difference :thumbs up:
I desperately need to do the same with mine. Did you manage to get all the arms/linkages together in a kit? If so would you mind sending me a link please?
Redline also do an ester based gearbox oil, which I use in mine. Super slick shifts and excellent protection for the gearbox and synchros:

No worries! The 140's really do perform well even in stock form! The smaller turbo spools up very eagerly compared to the 170 turbo, and with the early torque delivery of a diesel can surprise people at the lights. You won't be disappointed with the results of a stage 1 @B7Tourer, look forward...
We're very similar in mileage then on our B7's, just hit 100,200 as of today :thumbs up: Still feels very tight and happy, hard to believe it's 16 years old.
Ah I know depression all too well, I struggle with it badly too. It can be all encompassing at times and difficult to see through the dark clouds. Shoot me a PM if you ever want to talk chap, I understand what you're going through.
No I do like to fully explore the lovely B7 chassis and what it can do, especially when the sun is out and the engine is warm :thumbs up:
The car get's all the best fluids, filters, and all the maintenance it could ever ask for, but certainly has its legs stretched regularly! It's just ticked...
Thought I'd post an update since it's been 3 weeks since having the car mapped, and done a fair few miles since.
Fortunately no negative side effects or issues to speak of at all! The turbo is not making any extra noise or siren'ing, typically the PD 140 turbos will let go almost immediately...
They look fantastic @swisstony, shadow chrome is a lovely colour for alloys, to be honest I love any of the chrome effects on wheels, gives a really deep lustre compared with standard metallic or single colour finishes.
I went with silver chrome on mine for an OEM finish which I was really...
Echo'ing Rob's sentiments about your comment. No need for it is there really.
You will find that the majority of regulars on the B7 forum have manuals opposed to automatics, so for these particular questions won't be able to offer any advice. All of the regulars here are a very helpful bunch...
@Charlie Farley I think an alternate, more reliable lump is a great idea. Having owned one, I've never been particularly keen on the 2.0 TFSI, even in BUL form, they have too many caveats and poorly designed components for me to really love, not to mention the high oil consumption.
What sort of...
