I figured I’d replace my original 16 year old dipstick before it breaks up, after a bit of research I ordered an ECS Tuning one from Ultimate Customs. When it arrived in a box half the length of the dipstick I was already a bit concerned but yes its bent like a banana. I get more and more a...
Hi,
I need to remove the front seat covers/padding and I'm nearly there but I can’t figure how to remove/detach the posts where the head rest goes, any ideas?
I love the cornflower blue! I’m planning a full respray on my 2006 A3 since I want to keep the car but fancy a change from phantom black, I was thinking of going Nogaro blue, but I have to say I now think Cornflower blue suits the 8p better.
Mine wasn’t as bad but I tried double sided tape and it didn’t hold, I’ve now gone in with super glue and it seems OK, but then it was only a frew inches that had broken loose.
Hi,
While looking over my running A3 2.0t quattro engine (EA113) I noticed a part (highlighted in picture) that seems to be loose and wobble a bit, Can anyone tell me if this is normal and what it is?
Thanks
Jeff
I guess I’m in a strange situation, apart not liking the newer cars, my life change dramatically nearly 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2 months after moving to Switzerland for work. Since then the chances of the car outlasting me have been very high and its only in the...
Its special to me. Lots of memories, picking it up new from Audi with my son, the road trips around the UK and Europe, I figure only a very few will be kept for 30-40 years and become quite rare, already I hardly ever see a car similar to mine.
They will get done in the next 12 months or so, its just a different part of the car that is being worked on and I’m looking to spread the work over time.
I used to own a Peugeot 205 GTI and have many of a time wished I had kept and maintained the car, not just because they are now a classic but because I really loved the car. I’m now at a similar situation with my 2006 A3 2.0T Quattro Sport Back Sline , I’ve owned the car from new and has been a...
I have spoken to the garage and opted replace dog bone and subframe bushes with new OEM and do upper engine mounts another time, thanks a lot for your help.
Sorry do you mean replace the dog bone itself or add aftermarket dogbone subframe inserts or both. I tried looking it up and most people seem to go for the Powerflex insert which can be easily done at any time.
Thanks,
Jeff
I‘m having a big suspension overhaul done on my A3 2.0T Quattro, (struts, spprings, control arms, wheel hubs etc). The car is 2006 and has done 95k miles. I’m wondering about getting the engine mounts replaced, there is no indication they are shot but does it makes sense to do it at same time...
While the figure isn't fixed, it doesn't make sense that a car that has 20 bhp more than another car of the same model end up with the same power after the remap. I'd still expect at least a 15bhp difference post remap.
AMD would be fools to advertise a stock power rating higher than what Audi say. The remap should add around 40bhp regardless of what the initial value is.
PS Most people get a good power increase just by using good fuel, so the discrepency isn't that great.
