Karl if you can do without the car for a a couple of weeks I can supply an external gated housing with V band in and out and have a very high quality tubular manifold fabricated with external gate take off. Would be a lot less than 3k, just give me some notice as my fabricator is very busy.
Rick
You can do it with cruise control, but not all cars have that which is why I developed a method using the pedals. Press them for a certain time etc and the map switches, and it shows on the rev counter which map set is selected.
Rick
I can do narrow band no problem, different boost, different fuel, different ignition, Meth inj etc. Also launch control and flatshift.
Bill's point is that the idle area of the map/tune is no different regardless of what happens on throttle.
Thanks, Rick
Somebody emailing you a map and you putting it on - how do you know how the car is running? It needs to be checked before and after, and adjusted to suit. The car is old, it will be out of tolerance and so there is a good chance it is not going to react to the map in the exact way intended...
As Bill says, having a wideband is nice - but isn't going to allow you to actually adjust anything. Would I have one? Yes, but i realise it's all money. I can do you a generic chip, yes. I have a number of customers in Australia but they are running custom setups and so bought they're own...
AGU's actually run rich with more boost - that is providing your MAF is healthy which is very important.
Rich of course means less power, and ignition timing around this area of the map is very retarded. As Prawn says, the power delivery isn't very nice either.
Rick
The car will never run correctly if it's not mapped. The ECU will sense the extra airflow from the boost controller and then cut the fuelling, and then bring it back in. This is what you are feeling. It will actually be running extremely rich with the extra boost - a safety feature of the ECU...
