I found the 1.8t a bit lazy...took some waking up. Also the mpg was pretty poor for a small petrol.
I have a 2.0 tfsi it's completely different but it is the b8 variant.
If you post what the condition is and the age, mileage e.t.c. then you would get a better idea. Like above I've seen absolute wreckers with 200k plus and a valid mot being sold for £500-£750 price range. Low mileage good condition for way more.
I sold a b6 1.8t quattro avant for £2450 just over...
Totally possible, more a matter of how much you want to spend really.
I remember watching some guys on YouTube doing it some time ago, did it withing a day iirc.
Scuttle! I've had 3 b6's and it was always the scuttle when this started happening.
Not sure if this applies to the A4 but I also had the 1st gen A6 allroad and Audi had routed the rear screen wash pipe under the carpet in the passenger footwell so when I tried using it in freezing weather the...
If it was the diff on a Quattro then it would have to be really bad to make a constant humming, when mine started to go on a b6 quattro it first started as a barely audible knocking as if I was driving on cats eyes and only at low speeds. It was pretty obvious that the noise was coming from the...
I had my first b6 for about 10/11 years 1.9tdi quattro avant, I'd still rate it as probably one of the best cars I've had. It had same mileage as yours when I sold it and up until that point I'd only ever changed cambelt e.t.c. and brakes, other than that every thing else was still factory...
Only info I can share is like I said it was audible knocking subtle to start with then progressively worse pretty quickly. The guy I sold it to reckons all other options were looked into but in the end a second hand diff' sorted it ...
The guy that bought mine took it to an Audi indy and they traced it back to the rear differential, I spoke to a few breakers and it is something that can happen...and there was me thinking the quattro system was pretty much fail proof lol!
Mine had under 90k on the clock when it started! First it was barely audible but it got a lot worse within a few thousand miles, typically just when I sold it so I gave matey a kick back to help out with the repairs....
