I hear exactly what you're saying, I'd always used grease prior to working on the railway without a problem, but due to the nature of it being public transport and being labelled as safety critical work, everything had to be done by the book and signed off by the engineer who did the job. If...
I used to work on the Railway and all of our torquing had to be done on dry threads unless otherwise specified due to, as above, greased threads will give excessive tightening
Yes they’ll fit straight in and same connectors, I tried the ones from my wife’s mk7.5 with heated jets. I’d already fitted the A6 fan spray with jets though so won’t be changing.
The wiper jets is an easy one, use the a6 spray mist type which is a straight swap over. Part numbers below

I would advise using oem parts as copies can be a bit dodgy.
The visual display with rears was only possible on pfl models, on fl you need front sensors...
A standard oem RS3 grill needs slight modifications to some of the tabs to fit, not my experience but gleaned this info from previous postings.
On my fl saloon I fitted a front black edition grille from a sportback which fitted perfectly although I do believe the saloon bumper extends forward...
Congratulations on reading the thread and getting a good understanding of the campaign check
I would think that if your car shows a fault that they wouldn’t want you to take it away as if the bolt drops out of the pump it could be ejected through the casing. Their hope is to catch it before...
My car has never been launched and I have no intention of starting now.
I kept changing drive modes after the software change just so it would hopefully learn adaptations in all modes. It can feel snappy in the take up occasionally but I put that down to cold starts in the freezing weather when...
The pump failures are caused by a loosening of a pump fixing bolt. If it drops out it is likely to end up coming through the casing. If it is caught in time they can replace the pump. There have been reports of the securing threads being damaged in the housing requiring a new box.
I for one was...
Sorry for the delay, nightmare of a journey home yesterday and just remembered now. If you need any other specific pics just let me know.
Have a Happy New Year
Thank you so much for this info, I think he has bought a D but hasn’t got around to fitting it yet, I will pass this info on to him to confirm if he has the correct version.
many thanks again
I don’t think it’ll throw a fault as it’s wired to the fuse box, I think the sensor is used to monitor ambient light. I’ve removed my manual mirror and fitted an auto one, not got around to wiring it yet, it’s been months since I switched them but don’t use it much at night so haven’t felt the...
Should be, remove the trim around the mirror, unplug the connector from the top of the mount, remove mirror and replace with a manual one.
Search for fitting auto dip interior mirror and it’ll show how to remove the trims and mirrors.
I believe this was a DSG gearbox fault that is now the subject of a campaign check on 66, 17 and 67 plate S3.
A bolt on an internal pressure pump comes loose and can fall out resulting in the above.
I had mine checked recently and they change the software which will trigger a fault code if...
Ok that sounds like the sensible option, would you know what variation would be the one to buy, I’ve seen A,B, C, D and E revisions in addition to the F one fitted that are available.
