Hi all.
I have a 2013 A5 S-Line that has started to squeal quite bad, like metal against metal.
It takes about 10mins of driving before it starts. At first it only happens when turning left sharpish, but after driving for longer it happens when driving straight. I havn't heard it and seems to...
Back again guys!!
So replaced the shims with Mintex shims, but squeal is still there. I'm wondering if it could be something else.
The noise (high pitch squeal, like metal rubbing against metal) will normally start after 10mins of driving, at 1st it only happens when making a sharpish left turn...
I'm getting it! I just like to understand as much as possible. You guys have been pretty sound and I'd rather learn then just say I will change it. I will now be able to hopefully help someone in the future knowing why.
Cheers. Makes sense that it could be this. When I apply pressure to brakes, the noise goes but returns when I take my foot off pedal. Is it normal that the squeal doesn't happen until things heat/dry up? On a damp day it will be fine for half an hour or so!
