Your experience is normal. ACC on mine does hold back if it detects you are about to undertake a vehicle. However, to over-ride the system is simple. Just pull back on the ACC wand (I think it is the resume function) and the vehicle will continue with the manouver.
I guess we are going slightly off topic here with the Jax XE BUT..... I also do quite like the look of the it too.
Jaguar have had a stand at a car show by my office all last week and I sat in the XE. I must say...it is a nice looking cabin and seems a decent first effort for Jag in the compact...
Kind of feel the same about this. I am a v.low mileage driver (4-5k per year) and diesel makes no sense for me. Would have loved the 2.0TFSI from the Golf GTI in my A3 if it was available. Did think about an S3 but the price difference was quite sizeable and it is a different sort of car.
I paid a deposit of circa £2k on credit card and the remaining balance on collection day on visa debit card. Didn't pre-warn my bank and the dealer just had to call up for transaction authorisation when I was there.
Actually, to add to the above - I have seen 50mpg+, but only once.
If I did any kind of serious mileage (12k+ annually) I would have probably default bought a diesel. Instead, my fuel money goes to Transport for London for the joy of commuting on the Tube everyday
