Nearly 80% of burglaries happen via the front door. All your locks on a timber door or uPVC one are not going to stop scum from breaking through in minutes. You need a steel security door (with decorative cladding, of course) but they don't come cheap, upwards of £3,000. But it will stop sledge...- Zeb358

Any experience of how long the insurer's typically wait to settle...its been 2 weeks since the car was stolen and still not found/recovered?- Zeb358

Hence why I either don't want the car found or if it is it'd better be so wrecked that it will be deemed a write off! I just don't want the uncertainty of taking a stolen car back. However, if the car is recovered and deemed ok by the insurers' assessor's then I have no choice but to take it...- Zeb358

Thank you John. Further update...got a call last night to say that they have identified my S3 and will wait for it to turn up again. If they find it they will have the means to immobilise the engine and try to catch the suspects red-handed. That's all well and good from the Police's...- Zeb358
