It's getting a bit quiet on here now chaps, I think we need to liven things up a bit , get some B7 activity happening.

Yes the roof can have issues, particularly as they age and the rear glass comes away from the roof material, but that’s a fairly easy fix. The roof motor can wear out and leak oil but it’s a bit of a faff to do so gets expensive if you are not able to top up or replace with one from eBay...

Photos of 4 of the B7 Cabriolets I have had; one I still have. Love them. All were the run out special edition model, had two auto but have to have a manual really. Bottom one is currently on 69k miles and tucked up for winter in the garage. Such good value for money these days and...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

I noticed the Pirelli wear stupidly fast on a Quattro. The fronts were literally done in about 10k miles. Dunlops replaced them and are wearing very evenly and have a decent lip to protect alloys. I ran Toyo Proxes TR1 on my old Porsche and thought they were really good indeed. Smaller wheel...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Checking the oil today and the little o ring on the dipstick split and pinged off into the deaths of the engine bay. Anyone know what size they are? - will then take a look on eBay for o ring pack… Engine runs fine but if I pop the dipstick up 1 mm it clearly affects the running so I’d like...

Best purchase option for a B7 Variants, Saloon or Avant?

There is a third variant, the Cabriolet. I have had 4 of them. Keep coming back. All 2.0Ts and Special edition run out models, apart from the first one which I bought brand new back in 2007. They are not that quick and the FWD ones torque steer pretty badly. The suspension can be pretty...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Finally got around to changing plugs and coil packs. The car had been feeling a little ‘lumpy’ at idle. Plugs were pretty clean - I think they were done three years ago - but coil packs were dated 12/08. Fired up and she is now purring like a kitten again. Smooth and quieter too - possibly...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Just an idea, as we have recently had a Q5 with a judder under load - felt like driving over rumble strips - that the local Audi dealer identified as a transfer box issue. It appeared under hard acceleration, and also on slow speed cornering, where the rear axel is being given drive / torque...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

100 miles down into the West Country today. Motorway, A303 and then across Salisbury plain. Roof down all the way. Faultless. Saw a lovely blue DTM at one point too.

Any recommendation for plugs? Also are there torque settings for plugs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Anyone got any coil pack recommendations for tfsi? Car seems to have originals in place and there is a very very slight ‘wobble’ on idle from time to time. So I think I’ll replace all and see if it makes a difference - can’t hurt…. (Hopefully!)

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Rear parking sensor replaced. Got a bit lucky, unscrewed both sides by the wheel arches and then undid the rear right hand side nuts, after moving the Bose amp, and was able to get access to the outer most sensor without actually removing the bumper. Plugged in eBay replacement sensor...

SQ5 New model SQ5 test drive

It’s a big hike in price although I see you can already get some big discounts. Looking at that, there is a lot of fancy tech in there - probably overly so - and I guess that’s where a lot of expense has gone. I bought my SQ5 in 2018 for £54k with a finance rate of 6% from Audi FS - totally...

    SQ5 2025 Audi SQ5

Don’t do it. Changed my SQ5 for a Macan S and have regretted it from the moment I drove out of the Porsche dealer. Dreadful backward step in terms of quality, comfort, kit, mpg and general driving. Feels cheap, interior wearing badly already, buttons in the wrong place, nothing is intuitive...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Sun was out so the A4 came out of hibernation. Insurance turned back on and then taxed (when did tax for a 2.0 tfsi become £400 a year?!). Then topped up tyres and some fresh fuel and an hour long, roof down, trip out to charge the battery. Lovely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New S5 pics released.

Good news on the petrol engine and power output. Will watch for pricing… but read it’ll start at over £60k which seems inline with other prices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New S5 pics released.

I wonder what UK pricing will be and if we are forced to have the diesel S5 engine again or if we get petrol… My fear is that prices and costs have gone up too much to be competitive with options available now from other brands… who do seem to have caught up to Audi quality, design and fun levels.

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Air Con stopped working a few weeks ago and the car went to the local garage to take a look. They can’t just degass and need to check for leaks. So nitrogen was used and a hissing heard behind the front bumper. Either the compressor or the condenser tube. I feared a big bill for bumper...

‘Upgraded’ the stereo functionality today. I have looked at many of the aftermarket options for a new head unit and realised I want to keep the car original. So I bought one of these off eBay for £6. Plug and play. Works perfectly with Spotify from my iPhone so I’m very pleased -...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

I managed on the 2.0tfsi just with just the bonnet open. 19m spanner to move the tensioner, Allen key to hold it in place. Then a bit of knuckle skin, some swearing and a 30 cm ruler and you can get belts off and on without moving anything else. Fairly easy.
