    Post facelift "regressions"

Guess you're having and thus talking about the "original" FL wheel with the sliders, not these scrolls? These are relatively new, I sat in a showroom car in Berlin last week and it didn't have those yet.

I've considered the control "haptic" also when you just tap the surface, just like typing on a smartphone. But anyway, if they have executed the steering wheel "buttons" using this tech so that you need to press the surface to reach the sensor and it gives you a click feedback, I think it's far...

My car's spec missing in MyAudi app

The 2-year warranty has been the norm here for ages for most cars, especially German ones. For VAG cars, Skoda's warranty is still 2 years. BMW and Merc also still have 2 years but I think you can use money to extend their warranty. Audi added the waranty extension option in some European...

So are the pads around the scroll wheels also real buttons now, just behind one single plastic pad, or are they still haptic with a click feedback and just embossings between the touch points to separate them better? I'm yet to see the new wheel in the flesh.

    Niggly issues thread

This is way off topic but thought I'd post it here anyway: I was on vacation in Berlin and visited a local dealership to see if there was some fancy models on display. Unfortunately just the basic lineup with a single RS3, but I sat in many of the new models - and one thing definitely caught my...

Indeed. This is one thing I appreciate in Audi, things made easy. My buddy has a Skoda Enyaq and while it's a nice car to drive, it's fairly annoyig to use. Lots of screen fiddling to get the nannies out of the play, which is emphasized when you have to do lots of short trips on a row.

^ A guy who works in used car market once told me that Audi's RS transmissions are whole different to the regular ones, far less issues he said. But that was 8V time, no idea if the 8Y gearbox is the same throughout the whole model range or not. That's interesting. I read from the manual that...

I haven't noticed differences in how the ACC acts between my three 8Y's, but before the facelift there was this stupid thing that below 60 or 70 km/h you could adjust the speed in 5 km/h steps but over that only in 10 km/h steps. In the FL car it's the 5 km steps all the way up, which is way...

Lol, this one is yet to happen! Thank God you can deactivate the ACC from adapting to speed limit info. I always set the speed +5 km/h over the limit anyways, the real speed is then 2-3 km/h less which leaves you overspeeding just the same as techical reduction of the radars, so tehcnically...

Thanks. Looks like I'm running on newer software, so updating it most probably don't do anything to this. I came across a quite interesting incident regarding that. I have noticed my car mostly displays the right speed limit on the dash so I tried to switch the ACC to automatically change the...

Tried to adjust mine, the app shows those one-click apps but when I tried to use them it says "not supported". Which hardware and software versions do you have? Here are mine: I thought should I ask for a software update to get those apps to work, but I'm a bit hesitant to do that since...

Now this is interesting. Have the OBD11 developer managed to get some new rights to change the car settings or are there different limitations in the UK? I need to check what mine says later today.

Post or pre FL car? I can't do anything but read the fault codes with the OBD11 to my FL A3. The basic A3 as a whole is a step forward IMO. Some minor upgrades, like better speed adjustment in the ACC and more accurate parking sensors, and especially far less glitches with the MMI. The nannies...

End of an era…..RS3 to be discontinued.

Seems like the assembly is quite inconsistent. My first one had only one rattle which was easily sorted out (a wire in the steering column) but the second one was a PITA. The numerous and increasing rattles were one of the reasons I changed to a new once more. The current one has some small...

End of an era…..RS3 to be discontinued.

Of course and that's the spice of the discussion. Still that's not making the real world build quality of the Golf any better ;)

End of an era…..RS3 to be discontinued.

This might be a bit provocative as well, but I think - yes. If you have the extra money to spend, the S3 would be a no brainer. Golf is like I paid a big bunch of money and got a car with lousy interior and rattles. I'd rather have the more sophisticated interior of a regular A3 than the...

End of an era…..RS3 to be discontinued.

Golf interior 10 years ago was decent. The current one, not really. Saying Golf better finished than A3 is merely provoking, nothing more. I test drove the Golf 8.5 before buying the new A3 and the interior in the Golf felt far worse. Also there were lots of small rattles in that car, driven...

    Face lift A3 2024

The FL S-Line grille might be a bit too chunky indeed, but other than that I think they cleared the design in the facelift a bit and it works for me, both S-Line and the base model. Had to let it grow on me at first though but I prefer the looks of my FL to my previous pre-FL models. And...

Are 8v still worth in getting over an 8y?

Certainly do a test drive at some point. I felt the ride in the basic 8V A3 was a bit rough and especially the S-Tronic was way more clunky than in 8Y. If I was to buy a bit older car I'd be looking back at the Golf 7.5 for higher end R-line or GTI. It's a very good car in right spec.
