I went from a 360 bhp WRX Wagon (noisey, crashy, rattly but great go anywhere fun) to a Cupra R to the s3 8p (Stage 1 Revo). I've had it for 4 years now the longest I've ever kept a car which tells you lot:yes:
A358 Taunton - Williton. Seen 4 different S3's recently . Sprint Blue Sportback (this morning) a metallic grey Sportback, a white Sportback and a black 3 door . Haven't seen one for age's now they are all over the place:yahoo:
S3 Sportback .White with black roof. Seen a couple of times. This morning on the A358 near Crowcombe. Also Sprite Blue S3 Sportback in Crowcombe
and Black S3 Sportback in Norton Fitzwarren in recent days.
I've got stage 1 APR on my 2.0 TDI Golf Blue Motion. One word "Brilliant". Transformed the car. Acceleration is much quicker. Fuel consumtion is unaffected. Recently travelling from the NEC in Birmingham back home to Taunton in Somerset it was registering 73 mpg. OK I wasn't in hurry cruising...
Trying to help another member.
A couple of years ago I had the rear diff chnaged on my car. However, I bought part number OAV525010B but found the Haldex unit had to be changed over from my original assembly which had part number OAV525010K. I thought the first 3 letters OAV , OBR etc determined...
Thanks for the offer but after fitting another controller which didn't improve things I did a full Haldex service including the filter which
was absolutely filthy the noise has gone. Wish I'd done that months ago.

I won't use main dealers around Taunton or Bridgwater since Silverstreet VW messed every car I took to them. However, I would highly recommend Tom Walker at Retro Resus just off the Dunball roundabout. A most approachable guy and first class work. He and Jase know S3's inside out. I wouldn't...
As above, 10mm front and 12mm rear unless you like rubbage. From a safety point of view I'm running 25mm all round on my modded MK2 golf without any issues. I hear some people are running 30mm but think wheel bearings may well suffer.
It's all gone a bit silly. When I sold the Cooper S my son said "why would anybody pay that for a Mini !! You could buy a half decent Ferrari that sort of money". Italian motorbikes Ducati and Moto Guzzi always sound fantastic. There seems to be money in old stuff even a BSA Bantam that I...
Bought my little 1275 Cooper S (in the signature) in 1978 for £180 !! Had it restored in 2007. Sold it in 2015............. Nice little investment:whistle2:
When you look back you see the opportunities that you've missed. I was offered a Sunbeam Tiger in the late 70's for £600 !! ....but said no.
Yes, that was in the pre kids days. Mates had MG's but I wanted something different. Complete rust bucket!! However, wish I'd kept it. I paid £2.5 K for it
would be worth a fortune now.
