I had this also .
Went into vcds turned off then back on , no change .
In the end I removed door card and disconnected the door module .reconnected and working fine , so similar to disconnecting the battery as above

Hi , I'm looking for one of these to complete my oem restoration .
It's a bracket that attached to the centre console between the seats , it will not have any usability as obsolete now , but my car was delivered with it so I would like to replace. Many thanks

There must be a fault with your mirror if it has a switch that's no functional.
They're easy enough to change , just twist on and plug in

There's nothing you can do with mirtor with coding as they're not on the canbus system unless you have the holihh beam camera in it , and even then the dimming function isn't

Re the mirror. It's a strange one , your getting power as the compass is working .
Is thev green light near the switch ? We don't have that mirror over here

Seperate from what ?
The dimming mirrors that are used on the a3 8v with hba without a5 module camera are not seperate as they're in the housing of the rear view dimming mirror.
Do you think a 8T0 part number is compatible with the 8v ?

I've fitted these to 2 of my cars but only using mirrors 81A and 8so with camera . These have a lens opposed to the 8t0 you have with some sort of photocell.
I think you have the wrong mirror for the 8v .
Maybe djalix can confirm

The coding was easy enough but unlike earlier modules you have to load the parimeters using either vcp or odis ,do not straight forward
