    oh yeah i totally agree however if cleaning out an EGR valve or disconnecting a sensor is going to show a difference surely it is worth a try. I wouldnt go an buy a sensor on someones say so, because as you rightly say it is guesswork, but at least if someone can point us in the right direction...

    Im still on my determined mission to find out why my car is so crap on fuel. Trying a bit of trial and error, am starting with the MAF sensor. If i disconnect it what will happen? will the car run default values etc and will it put the car in limp mode or generate the EM light? cheers

    i said aprox working in my head. And my point exactly. When some claim they can get towards 60mpg and i can barely get my DIS to say 50mpg surely something is wrong. If i disconnect the MAF sensor will the car run default values? just something i thought of trying

    no there is an audi sub built into the side of the boot on the right, powered by a small amp i guess. I sold a B6 2.5tdi and got a 1.9, same car, same stereo setup except the sub in this car isnt as loud as in my other B6, which is why i wondered if the output had been lowered somewhere...

    is it possible to somehow adjust the output volume of the subwoofer. In my old a4 the sub seemed a lot more noticable. have even got the bass on +6 and . it is def working as i have had my head next to it but you can barely hear anything from it together with the other speakers

    well my last tank of £60 of fuel at 115.9 gave me 420 miles, and that was with over half of it tickled on the motorway. i work that out to be aprox 10 gallons thus 42mpg, which is lower than what i expect it to do.     mixture of figures here. Some people seem to be getting the same figures as me, whereas the people who are averaging 50mpg and getting 59mpg at 50mph, i dont know how they are doing it because i couldnt get anywhere near that figure even driving slow and not accelerating at all down hills etc...

    do the people who use castrol edge 5w30 find it made your engines feel more free revving. It is thinner oil than the w40 that comes from audi so should do in theory
