It does make me laugh that people see price as a front for quality. i wont name any business but ive seen a £450 remap look the same quality as the files bought on the ebay dvds. A £250 remap solved all issues, performed better and without smoke.
will likely get shot down here, but it makes me...
then the world is your oyster, if someone says its not possible then spend ££ to make it possible. Is only metal, nut and bolts after all. It can be modified
must admit i was looking fir the same info, cant believe 20 years on people are still selling turbo kits for 2k+ for these engines
and the used market seems to be non existent unless you sit pressing F5 on ebay lol
if you go through the hastle of fitting rods then you may as well do other...
havent taken any yet, have yet to tax it as ive been fixing the problems (only steering angle fault) and the EML was on due to cat performance (p0420 fault code)
sorted them both so will tax next month (tomorrow) and get some pics in the next 7 days i wouldve thought
just a silver TT though...
save yourself some money and buy some resistors from maplins lol
tuning boxes WILL make a difference, do they do it well / correctly / safely....imo no
if you bought the car from new then you'll know how sympathised the clutch is....if you didnt then it couldve been caned every single journey of its life prior to your ownership
therefore you really dont know the condition of the clutch until you see it
if after a remap the clutch starts...
some great advice from bobby there tbh, although i dont like the term flash and dash, just because the person doing the flashing cant answer the questions above doesnt mean the 'generic file supplier' doesnt :)
£150 will typically get you a generic remap (a known set of tuning changes to...
take celtics figures with a pinch of salt, they're a big franchise tuning company, with any big franchise (im sure ill offend some now :P) they will have dealers local to you, this could be a spotty teenager that knows nothing but just does the flashing of the ecu and takes a cut
the big...
im a little knowledgeable in this area :)
if the ecu remap hasnt been done accordingly for you to remove the egr and blank it then the engine will indeed go into limp mode (there's effectively 2 different remapping types for egr's 1. if theyre functional and still fitted, 2. if theyre not...
have you considered autoaid? you yourself are covered as a driver (or passenger i think) so you can be in any car
by far better than having a car itself covered. you also get free cover for your legal spouse :)
no i dont work for them, they were the cheapest. the only catch (becayse theres...
i think its a grey area, insurance companies 'should be' notified of all mods so that you can feel as ease about whether you're covered or not. however will an insurance company start pulling the ecu map data and then comparing it to the standard factory data to see if a crashed vehicle has been...
imo unless your car is tuned (whether thats from factory ie a sports version / high end performance vehicle or remapped) then running non premium prob wont make any noticeable difference
why? because from factory they have to be able to run on all qualities on pump petrol / diesel. If you're...
