1.8TFSI piston ring failure suspected, advice needed

Just had a call with them, the guy was really nice and took his time to go through with me but said that Audi capped the age of the car to about 10 years from manufacture, so they would not contribute to the repair cost. Was worth a try though, I have found a garage with a competitive quote for...

1.8TFSI piston ring failure suspected, advice needed

Cheers, I will give it a shot. I spoke to Audi UK customer service yesterday and they directed me to my local dealership, I messaged them and they replied to say it is easier to speak about this on the phone so will give them my number and go from there.

1.8TFSI piston ring failure suspected, advice needed

Hey I only just saw your reply, I didn't get an email notification. I did think about it, but then thought there was no way they would honour anything this far out of warranty. How did you make contact with them? Thanks

1.8TFSI piston ring failure suspected, advice needed

Need a bit of advice. Audi A3 2010 1.8TFSI, I have had it for about 10 years (it's been my girlfriends for the last 2 years of that), full service history and it's been solid. It still drives perfectly but it is losing a lot of oil, gone from full to oil warning light in 250 miles so I suspect...

Do I need to replace my rear wiper motor?

I've bit the bullet and picked up a new genuine motor from eBay and a wiper/bearing puller from Amazon.

Do I need to replace my rear wiper motor?

Last night my rear wiper started going at high speed, to turn it off I had to move my stalk into the on position. Later that night the wiper started again and nothing would switch it off. I read up about the problem on here and found it can be the jet hose has leaked or other problems so first...

Does the 1.8 TFSI suffer chain tensioner issues?

Would be interested to see what you find, the threads I found suggest it could be a problem on my engine though :(

Does the 1.8 TFSI suffer chain tensioner issues?

Sorry for the late response, it is the CDAA 1.8 TFSI. According to Wikipedia it is this spec: 160 PS (118 kW; 158 hp) @4500–6200 250 N·m (184 lb·ft) @1500–4500 7.4s 2009–2013. This thread mentions the engine code, but I am unsure where to find the build date of my car...

Does the 1.8 TFSI suffer chain tensioner issues?

I just got back from my service at an Audi specialist and at the end they say me down and warned me about a problem with the chain tensioner on my year of car, they said Audi used two different tensioners on the drive chain, one of which was known for releasing and damaging the engine to the...

Where to get the battery flat fuses (for AMSS)

I don't think I need a holder, I hope there is a spare slot on my battery but I needed to know what those types of fuses were called :)

Where to get the battery flat fuses (for AMSS)

Thanks, I was searching flat fuse rather than midi fuse :)

Where to get the battery flat fuses (for AMSS)

I have finally got my hands on an AMSS and am getting the bits together for the install. The guide uses a flat 40A fuse with the plastic on it, all I can find is what seems to be bare flat fuses...
