    Thanks for all the response. Thanks, so that means the cross part is touch sensitive but the buttons in the corners are not? How sensitive are the sliders (especially the left-right swipe ones)? Will they be occasionally mis-swiped during driving?

    Can someone who owns or have tested the 8Y.5 RS3 explain how the steering wheel buttons work? Are all of them touch sensitive or do some of the buttons require actual clicks (even though the whole patch will be pressed down at the same time)? Thanks in advance.

    For the facelift S3...pretty sure it is like this... Round steering wheel = plastic paddle Flat Bottom Steering wheel = Aluminum (just for look or real, not sure) paddles.

    Personally, I think the 8Y facelift looks much better than the 8Y prefacelift RS3, especially the diamond grill pattern. I hated the prefacelift 8Y's rounded iron chain grille pattern. I also like the new back more than the old one. Con wise...WTF Audi? Steering wheel with capacitive buttons...

    Yeah, the 8V A3 in North America could come with the 220 hp 2.0T, the same as the GTI with the performance pack at the time. It was basically a GTI with haldex. It is too bad the 8Y downgraded it.

    Yeah, as the above poster said, the R is a lot lighter. I also wouldn't be surprised if Audi actually underquoted the PFL and now quote it closer to what the engine can do in the FL.

    Acceleration wise, it wouldn't be an upgrade. Handling wise, it is a significant upgrade. There is no question the FL is more fun and engaging. It is analogous to the Golf 8R vs. 7R - how all the reviewers and owners all said the 8R is way better handling wise because of the torque splitter.

    Yeah, I watched it. The key take away that I got from it was that it confirmed that the facelift is way more fun to drive because of the torque splitter and other mechanical upgrades. As he said, it is the most fun S-model that he has ever driven.

    Confirmed, for the North American version, the 8Y S3 sedan's battery (8:48 in the video) is in the rear trunk, like the 8V RS3. No more spare tires.
