    Wet rear passenger footwell

I thought I'd post an update. It works out that the issue was the missing rubber grommet in the rear light housing, this was the entry point of water getting into the car. I've put in a new rear light housing (which has a broken clip) and a put in a new rubber grommet and the leaking has...

    Wet rear passenger footwell

Hey Emerleh I just hired a rug doctor from Tesco with the upholstery attachment and then spent a few hours trying to extract as much water as I could. I reckon I got about 3+ litres out. I tried putting a dehumidifier in there as well but that didn't really work. I've now got some of those...

    Wet rear passenger footwell

Also noticed that the rear left brake light housing is not sitting in properly, one of the clips inside the housing is broken and the rubber grommet that the clip goes into in the body seems to have deteriorated as well. Looks like I'll have to buy a new housing and find a grommet so that it...

    Wet rear passenger footwell

Had loads of rain overnight and I took out the spare wheel in the boot. What do you know, there is a massive puddle of water in it. How would water be getting into the spare wheel space, via the rear lights?

    Wet rear passenger footwell

Hi all I've searched the forums but can't seem to find a relevant answer. In the last couple of months, mostly after heavy rain, I am getting a wet footwell in the back seats of the car on the passenger side. I have a 2006 A3 Sportback 2.0 TFSI. Ive checked the front passenger and drivers...

A3 TFSI MPGs - what is yours?

In mine, I found it was the cleaning of the Mass Air Flow sensor that made a big difference in fuel economy! I'm generally using Shell V-Power 95 / 99.

A3 TFSI MPGs - what is yours?

Hi all Out of interest, and to compare with my own car, for those 2.0 TFSI's owners, what MPG are you getting. Here is mine: Type of day to day driving: mostly city, school runs, supermarket... (no motorways) Year: 2006 MPG: 21 When I do road trips (loads of motorway driving), I've been...

Sudden fuel consumption increase on 8P 2.0 TFSI

So I think I might have finally solved the issue. I cleaned the MAF sensor today and took it for a test drive (from cold). I am now getting 25+ MGP driving local and went up the A1 and managed to get it up to around 34+ MPG. Going to see how this behaves over the next couple of weeks...

    MPG Issues

So I cleaned the MAF sensor this morning and this seems to have sorted my problems. Went for a good long drive and am now getting 25+ MPG local driving and 34+ MPG on the motorway. I'm gutted I didn't think of doing this months ago.

    MPG Issues

Too be honest I don't know, I didn't see them as the mechanic did it in the service. He did say they were not great quality and replaced them with NGK plugs.

    MPG Issues

Not its bog standard out of the factory. The car has only done 50,000 miles. This all started happening after I had the air-con compressor changed at a garage local to me. The guys then had no idea how to diagnose the issue let alone try to sort it so I stopped going there and I've just taken...

    MPG Issues

Had them changed in the last service I did back in August 2020. I am going to check them this week however, just waiting for the socket to turn up.

    MPG Issues

Thought I would re-open this thread as I am having the similar issues, however my MPG stays low all the time. Im getting about 200 miles per tank on a 2.0 TFSI. So far Ive changed the following: PCV, DV, Thermostat, Coolant Sensor. I've also had a full service with oil and fuel filters...

Sudden fuel consumption increase on 8P 2.0 TFSI

Thought i'd update again here. It's been slow going trying to get this sorted for various reasons. Since the last post I've done the following: Full Service Coolant Sensor Thermostat (Audi original) DV (rev G - Audi original) For some reason, I didn't notice it earlier but the coolant temp...

What have you done to your A3 (8p) this week

Some of you may know from my threads here that I've been having some major issues with fuel economy (for quite some time). I have just had a new revision G diverter valve (both Audi original parts) installed and a new thermostat to see if this will sort the issue. The temp probs I have been...

What have you done to your A3 (8p) this week

This weekend I replaced the coolant sensor as I'm still having some pretty poor fuel economy issues. The temp gauge fluctuates between 90 and 65 when im driving. If I put the air-con on, the temp will drop from 90 to below 70. Not sure exactly what is going on but I am going to get the...
