    Hmm, yeah. Wheel size and perhaps geometry can make a difference. I ran Toyo proxies for years on my old 3.2 quattro (17s) and they were good tyres. The same tyre on my S3 (18s) were utterly awful.

    As above. I'm currently running Michellin PS4s and whilst they are excellent for grip particularly in the wet, they are a noisy tyre. Are there any suitable alternatives that provide similar grip but with much less road noise? (even if they are expensive). Thanks

    I am currently looking at doing this, but the Koni Special actives are not listed as being compatible with the S3, only the A3 variants. This is annoying as i would like a softer ride on our poor roads, as I will be doing regular long drives in the near future. Options?

    Cant give you an answer but interested to see what comes back. I tend to agree. My mates golf R feels different to my S3, much more planted. It does have a reputation as being more of a drivers car than the s3. It would be nice to find a way to fix that, particularly the twitchy handling at speed.

    Budget depending I personally would go for an intake upgrade (and an intercooler if you can afford it), and an MRC custom tune. That will be best bang for buck. I believe they get around 380 bhp and Similar lbs foot for just the intake. Or 390 with the uprated intercooler, racing plugs as well...
