Okay i was just a bit confused by your comment that 0w30 shouldn't got anywhere near these cars because that is what Audi are using, but at the same time you would only buy a car with full Audi service history.
You're right i got the wrong oil. But shouldn't it be 0w30? £55 at Opie (which is really £50 as there's always 10% off)

Have you ever heard of Opie Oils? It's £33 for 5 litres. I'm sure Audi are buying it cheaper than that. So nowhere near £100. But don't let facts get in the way.
I get it- you're rich and wasteful with your money. And i guess that's why Audi bend customers over because you'll happily take it...
Just to update....the labour was less than an hour at £150+Vat per hour. So that wasn't the issue. It was the 7.1 litres of oil (shell helix) at £18.50+Vat!
I've got a dash cam on my cars. It's always annoying when my old BMW comes back from the place my local garage uses for the MOT with the cables pulled out.
At least Audi don't do that.
I'm not selling my car. Not unless I win Euromillions
I'm doing annual oil changes (I'm at 13500) regardless of mileage. I have had 2 services on the Audi plan so far. But can't see the vfm getting them to do an oil change. Maybe I'm just tight
Thanks. I'll look into that. I asked about the service plan (as my 2 service, service plan had been used up)and was given some number near £800. I was driving at the time so didn't pay attention to the details.
I'm old..£345 for an old and filter change is ridiculous.
I don't have an M or AMG. But I don't feel any better knowing they charge that much too
I'm not sure how they can do the MOT at that price when it must take longer than an oil change.
Car is going into Audi next week for first MOT. A reasonable £55.
So I thought I'd ask how much for an oil change £345!
Their hourly rate must be about £250 plus vat
Think I'll get my local garage to do it with oil from Opie Oils.
Has anyone ever figured out how to get the centre arm rest in the up position. Every time i get in the car i try half a dozen times and give up. So far this year i haven't managed to get it up!! on my way to and from work!
Yeah i used to have a garage full of tyres (and still have some) from the fat datsun, x5 etc. but in this instance i forgot to ask for 'good' the tyre! But i've switched brands, so i'm not likely to use it. And i would have had to fished it out of their pile of tyres just to have to take it up...
Okay thanks for that.
I'll maybe just let Audi do it when it's in for subwoofer replacement next week. For the £10 extra - saves me the hassle of going somewhere else.
I've had 4wd cars for the past 20 years* and always changed the tyres on the same axle. The X5 i've got is even more finnicky in that if the rolling radius is far out the transfer box doesn't like it and the car crabs.
* crashed a RWD E30 325i (best car ever!) without LSD and on 14inch wheels...
Car was in at Audi this week and they said the brake fluid needed changed every 2 years.
So few questions
1) Is everyone changing brake fluid every 2 years. FWIW i've done 9000 pretty sedate miles (i'm 50 now!)
2) What brake fluid are you using? Most Audi specialists are charging near enough...
