    A3 saloon retrofit folding mirrors

It should return to normal position automatically when you drive above 15 km/h. Did you try that?

    A3 saloon retrofit folding mirrors

Driver side is supposed to have 10 wires: 3 for the glass motor, 2 for folding motor, 1 for heater, 1 for indicator, 1 for ground, and 2 for auto-dimming (even if the dimming glass is not installed) Passenger side has additional 4 wires since the glass motor has 7 wires (for position memory)...

A3 8V Climate control problem / fresh air lid

Just replicating the reply I PM'ed to you, in case someone else may find it useful: Actually, besides the additional sensors, a digital, dual zone unit has also a different recirculation box. Not only because it uses a potentiometer-controlled servo motor (manual units use a motor which is...

    2015 A3 spare key fob doesn't lock/unlock car

Thanks all for the replies. Now I noticed that car settings on MMI displays "Number of keys initialised: 1", and I remember I used to see 2 on that screen a few times I checked since I have the car. It seems that, for whatever reason, the spare key lost its adaptation. I've read that it can only...

    2015 A3 spare key fob doesn't lock/unlock car

After keeping the spare key fob without use for years, I decided to test it to check if it would work in case I needed, but it didn't. It can't lock/unlock the car. Battery doesn't seem to be the issue because the LEDs in the key fob blink normally when buttons are pressed and, after all, the...

What kind of retrofits have YOU done to your A3/S3?

The camera is needed only for the Lane Assist, not for Adaptive Cruise, both retrofits may be done separately. If you want to have a perfect, OEM looking Lane Assist retrofit, you do have to replace the windshield. Besides having the proper bracket for mounting the camera, the proper windshield...

What kind of retrofits have YOU done to your A3/S3?

Mine is a 2015 A3. Parts include 12 sensors and brackets to fit them in the bumpers, 2 buzzers, 2 ABS sensors for the rear wheels, the control module and the button set for the dash. I bought the park assist kit from "VW AG Store" on Aliexpress and they used to supply both FL and PFL versions...

What kind of retrofits have YOU done to your A3/S3?

Welcome. There is a simple coding needed to avoid the flickering. IIRC it's also explained in the thread I mentioned.

What kind of retrofits have YOU done to your A3/S3?

The connectors are different so you need a new wiring loom to connect the rear roof lights to the front. There is a thread on that specific retrofit in the forum. I'm not sure what was the thread title but you may find it easily if you do a search.

Switching from standard temp controls to electric climate control?

Sebastiano's video on YouTube has a link for a folder containing electrical diagrams, part numbers and wiring instructions:

Switching from standard temp controls to electric climate control?

AFAIK the system will still work at least partially if you just replace the manual control panel with the digital one, even if you don't install all the sensors. That's what a few people who tried that told me, the HVAC will blow cold air and increase fan speed when as you reduce the temperature...

Switching from standard temp controls to electric climate control?

If you buy a used air conditioning control unit it will probably work without any need of coding, maybe only a few minor changes if the unit was originally installed in a cabrio or a RHD/LHD setting different from your car. But I think there's something you should consider before starting such...

Fuse box and TPMS Retrofit Question

If I recall correctly, TPMS module will register a fault if power is switched off. I suppose the module is connected to permanent power in order to receive signals from the wheel sensors even when ignition is off so it can alert the driver about a pressure loss as soon as the ignition is turned...

Fuse box and TPMS Retrofit Question

Is your car a LHD or RHD? If it's LHD, the fuse box can be reached by removing the bottom trim from the dashboard and the knee airbag, then prying on the tabs and pulling it from the mount so you can reach the back of the box. If it's RHD I don't have the details, but it seems that removal of...

How can you tell if used wing mirrors on sale are electric folding?

Check if the connector has a blue and a pink wires in the positions 9 and 10. Those are the wires for the folding motor.

What kind of retrofits have YOU done to your A3/S3?

Good job. My A3 was a very basic version from factory so I had much space to have fun with retrofits. So far I've done: - Front fog lights - Interior vanity and glove box LED lights - Roof lights upgrade with LED map/reading lights - Front and rear footwell lights - Cupholder LED light - Door...

    Facelift Wing mirror dimming

If your car doesn't have dimming mirrors from factory, it probably doesn't have the wiring that connects the interior rearview mirror to the door modules. I think there is a thread about that retrofit in the forum that can be very helpful.

    Facelift Wing mirror dimming

The simplest way to test is completing the connections to the exterior and interior mirrors and check if they all dim. But if you still didn't finish the wiring, maybe you could apply a voltage to the input pins of the door module and check if the exterior mirror glass dims. It dims almost...

    Facelift Wing mirror dimming

I think so. Connection of the dimming mirrors seem to be a simple direct pass through the door modules, with no processing involved and no need for coding, so any "high" module is supposed to work fine.
