Lots of Errors VCDS, ABS sensor no fix

Hi guys see readout below. Lots of problems. 2012 225k miles, starting to get problems that may not be fixable - steering assist problem? Today changed out the rear right ABS sensor for the second time and cleared the codes, but still getting the problem a minute into driving it, the lights...

Replacing the oil feed line to the turbo

All done. Got a braided hose which worked a trick. The existing turbo line side had a union adapter (M10x1.0) on it which needs opening with an alan key (a total bitch). Then hacksaw off the old line, make space and get the new one on. Tricky but can be done.

Replacing the oil feed line to the turbo

I reckon the braided hose is the way to go! Might also prevent any recurring pipe cracks due to vibration down the pipe as is fixed.. I noticed a few other posts saying the problem seemed to come back for them. So the flexible pipe hopefully will do the trick! Maybe I can get another 400k miles...

Replacing the oil feed line to the turbo

Yep I saw that braided hose. I'm wondering if I could potentially hacksaw the other one out once I have it loose, then just attack the braided one. Whereabouts is the nut on the engine side do you know? There are just two I think, from looking at the part, unless there are clips holding it in...

Replacing the oil feed line to the turbo

Just want to add a photo of it for anyone interested in the future. Not sure how to add a video. Can just see the black drip of the oil on the arm of the oil feed there, above the sump.

Replacing the oil feed line to the turbo

Hi All Haven't posted for a while, the car has been running well now even at 400k miles. I've had a turbo 'whistling' sound for a while but that seems to have gone away with the appearance of a significant oil leak. Today I finally got around to jacking the car up and diagnosing the leak. It...

Made a mess of lacquer on bonnet!

Hi All Had lots of cat scratches all over my bonnet A3 2012 - queue my car tends to attract ... kittens! - I tried spot spraying it with clear lacquer, which took off the scratches but has left with a really uneven gloss look, what do I do! Maybe a wax ? Should've left it alone!

Parts for 8P1 will fit 8P?

Hi guys and gals I have to change out the DPF in my 2.0TDI - scrapyard says he has a replacement which is a 8P1 CFFB61... whereas my engine is a CFFB60... 8PX .. never knew if that just means it is a 8P!? Mine is a 2012, the newer model just as they were changing it but unsure if there might be...

    Kerb damage help! Negative Camber

Success at last. Brought it to a garage a few weeks back. Fixed in 2 hours - they just changed the stub. ***!!!!!!!! After all that. Just goes to show. If you don't got the right tools, you can't do the job.

Spring compressor needed to change a strut?

Just an update -changed the strut. It's a straight swap, no messing with springs. Tip: Aqibi is spot on - use a jack to pop it out and then back in to the spindle clamp.

    Kerb damage help! Negative Camber

Exhausted. Gave it the whole day. Managed to get the wipers off eventually after a lot of banging and pulling, in the end banging the splines either way worked best to loosen. Then went at it. Unfortunately the track rod was the only part that wouldn't cooperate. Spent 3 hours on it heating it...

    Kerb damage help! Negative Camber

No luck. See pics. They wont budge. I heated them with a torch, then soaked them for 2 days in wd 40. Wont move. But it is strange they both are stuck in the same way. Makes me believe there is a special way to do it, like a certain angle they must be at, or maybe unlocked by computer or...

Spring compressor needed to change a strut?

Thanks for the replies! The coil spring is already on the new part - so just a straight swap? Going to give it a bash on Friday. Will probably need to get my hands on an impact driver :/

    Kerb damage help! Negative Camber

Thanks very much George and Sooty, I don't feel so defeated now! Maybe I can give it one more shot! Need to get myself an impact driver though as these strut and stub nuts look welded.

Spring compressor needed to change a strut?

I've seen mixed patter about the spring compressor - can I just straight swap a shock with spring etc ? From looking at the diagrams it's just the top nut that comes off and then the unit slides up underneath snug and tight, then just tighten the top nut... Simples? :hamburger:

    Kerb damage help! Negative Camber

At a standstill this evening I'm afraid! Utterly hopeless as I cant even get the plastic guard off the top of the strut mounts for access! I'm presuming the wipers are holding it on but after unscrewing them they wont budge! Tried for an hour rocking them and levering them to no avail. Hopeless

    Kerb damage help! Negative Camber

I actually happenstanced across a thread last night with very similar damage on an S3. The poster said the camber was eventually fixed by replacing the suspension strut and wheel hub housing. I can pick them up for under 100 quid so it's worth a shot. Then it's tail between the legs to the...

    Kerb damage help! Negative Camber

Thanks Sooty. Worried now. You dont think it could be a wheel bearing housing (the big brute the suspension strut attaches to) bent downwards with the force of the kerb bang? I'm thinking if it was only bent even <10mm that would be a difference in visible wheel camber of inches. I also notice...
