Hi all.
Firstly, hope you are all safe and well.
On my wife's old 1.9tdi (2002), the central locking would lock the doors as you pulled away. It would engage at around 5mph.
I think it was a factory option as I don't think the car was ever modified (intentionally). What was this feature...
Hi all
My car is now not worthy (economically) of a full body shop paint job, but there are bits that I would like to at least touch up and have a go at DIY repair/maintenance once all of this lockdown madness is over.
Where is the best place to get a good quality can of base, paint and...
Tuffy … if you say there is no advantage then I will go with that! There seems to be a difference in opinions.
Right. so good quality OE/OEM it is...
Thanks
Hi All
I have a suspected bad coil on my 2003 1.8t. I want to use this opportunity to upgrade to the 2.0L packs (potentially the tfsi one), but all the threads I find are old.
Aside from Awesome GTI, who historically been great, but I have not used them in over 15 years I can't find a source...
Hi all
Mods: happy for this to be moved to ICE but 8L knowledge is great here hence the questions!
So bought a kenwood double din to fit into my 2003 1.8t sport. I bought what I thought was the right harness (CT20AU09).
First problem was there was no power to the head unit. After a lot...
Factory immobiliser
Can I scan for fault codes if I can't switch the engine on?
I only have a OBD Eleven to scan for faults. I hope that can do the job.
Thanks
Hi all
I am trying to install a Kenwood DPX-7000 into my 2003 (8L Chassis) 1.8t Audi A3. - Could be one for the ICE section, but knowledge here seems to be great!!! MODS please move if you see fit.
I have the Autoleads CT20AU09 harness (which I believe is the right harness but correct me if...
Hi all
I am not sure why (yes I do! it is those damn Snap On videos on you-Tube! Best way to waste time online!) but I got a want for a 3/8 snap on stubby ratchet. I cannot justify the costs at this point (even second hand one feels too expensive @ £50), so I started looking at...
Hi All
After many years away (life got in the way...) I finally got a chance to get my hands dirty again. Interesting to see how technology has moved on (DAB, 2x Bluetooth with auto pairing... mind blowing) over the years and how the costs have come down!
Anyhow, I got hold of a kenwood...
Hi all.
I treated myself to an OBD Eleven kit just before Christmas in the hope that I was stay with VAG in coming years and it seems to be a very useful tool.
I wanted to try and look at a constant 'emission control system' warning on the dash.
OBD11 gave me the following codes but google...
Hi All
Thought I would ask you guys before going to the ICE section.
I have bought a new aftermarket double DIN stereo and looking to replace my Audi Symphony (I think) unit (also Double DIN).
Now, looking for the adaptors and cage and trim etc, I thought I might as well buy the packs...
Hi all
After a few years of looking, I finally got my hands on an iconic piece of 8l history for a fair price...(assuming that I am in to receive it...already missed Parcelforce twice!)
All historic posts mentioned that that the instructions sent out were detailed and easy to follow.
My...
I have spoken to five garages this morning for quotes (including Audi Dealership) and all five have bought up the subject. None needed prompted.
FYI - Audi book price is approx. £377 for the job, and £900 (ish! I switched off when I heard the price) for the flywheel and clutch.
Turns out it WAS the clutch!!! Stuck on the M40 yesterday proved it!!!! Didn't realise it can go from is it this to totally KAPUT ....
Next question - Dual Mass Flywheel is recommended to be changed at clutch change from my understanding, but is it an absolute, or good practice or each to...
Hi guys
I noticed the other day, when pulling away in first the car (2003 A3 1.8T Sport) struggles. Almost as if it is thinking about stalling. It then pulls away fine but then I notice in second and third (not really had a chance for take it up to fourth & fifth given road conditions) that...
I had similar last winter. It was the clip for me to. Relatively easy to fix using the piglet guide noted above. Hint - mark the bolts before your loosen/remove them. It will make alignment up much much easier!
