    Wheelnut key location

I guess if you don't have a spare wheel and you or any roadside rescue doesn't have any other need to unload a possibly full boot to get to the wheel nut key it makes sense to keep it out of the boot!

How many miles should s3 brake discs last?

Massively, if driving economically anticipating junctions, traffic etc, hard use of brakes will hardly need to be used except in emergency. My last manual diesel 8P, driven daily and garaged, I decided to replace the original front set of pads and discs at 200k miles. There was still plenty of...

Windshield Replacement Woes: Wiper Alignment Issue After Installation

Looks like they didn't refit the wiper on the splined drive in the right position. Pretty shoddy work IMO Lets hope they did a better job on the screen and it doesn't leak and they re mounted the rain sensor correctly back onto the glass.

    SOS Function Fault

This was a common fault in early models, pre mid 2021 I believe. Fixed with a software update.

Why does stop start activate when the engine is cold?

Odd because the PHEV doesn't do this. In any mode other than 'Full EV' it will run the ICE until it has warmed to some degree, only for around 5 minutes or so. If setting off in Hybrid mode, it prevents you going back to full EV for a similar period.

    Fuel cover panel broken

Do you folks not have the filler flap opening switch in the drivers door? On operating, a message "venting systen" comes up on the MMI prior to flap unlock. I have the TFSIe so this may be different.

    TFSIe ‘Charge’ dial

This is normal operation of the regen. The amount available depends on the state of charge of the HV battery, a fully charged battery will have a low current limit. It also seems to be affected by temperature in order to protect the cells.

Range - does it get better?

Same here This time of year, a cold start takes the hit (same as with any ICE propulsion)

    Thoughts after few years ownership

40 TFSIe PHEV after nearly 3 years 20,000 miles. No issues, quiet ,smooth and cheap to run.

Gear changes in electric mode (A3 8Y tfsi e)

Agree, I've only heard it when driving close to a reflective surface (wall etc) with the windows open . It is quite high pitched so doesn't carry into the cabin at all.

Change key battery, still complains after change

From an Audi (US) site. Worth a try.. What if Your Audi Key Isn't Recognized After a Battery Replacement? If your car doesn't recognize your key fob after you've changed the battery, we suggest you visit our service experts. However, you can try to reinitialize the key after the battery...

Is it the door seal rubbers that cause the door to rattle then?

It can depend on a number of factors, temperature, humidity etc . A simple fix is to wax and polish the painted surfaces of the door that meet the seals or rub some french chalk onto the rubber seals so that they can slide rather than creak. French chalk is the stuff you get in bicycle repair...

    Screeching rear wiper

I've found a tested solution..well sort of! Each time on parking up for a period, pull the end of the rear wiper down gently by about 30mm and slowly release it. This reprofiles the wiper rubber in the opposite direction. It shouldn't screech/judder the next time you use it.

    Rain sensor sensitivity

For those of a technical persuasion here's a description of how a typical Bosch Rain sensor works https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/21731.pdf Clever little critter! and, in my opinion an invaluable feature. Of course, it is only looking at an area of windscreen the size of a 50p piece so, in...

    Screeching rear wiper

Has anyone else noticed if theirs only judders on the 'up stroke' and not in the other direction? I think the way the wiper parks (see pic) puts a strong bias on the blade shape, causing it to effectively scrape up rather than wipe. Maybe a softer rubber is needed. Unfortunately, it can't be...

Do the front parking sensors pick up curbs infront?

Pretty sure they must do as the self parking novelty has to detect and avoid them.

Key fob battery low after only 11 months

My spare (rarely used) was found to have a dead battery at pretty much the same time as the regularly used one. I think there's some circuitry in the key that's always in 'receive mode' awaiting an interrogation from the vehicle.
