    Key sync to replacement ccm

I'll reply to myself.. lol Yes, it did need vcds to connect my keys to the new ccm. I thought it would just work being i got hold of a ccm with the exact same part number, including the 2 last digits.. But, keys are now sorted.. and everything works.. for now

    Annoying Electrical issues

That sounds about right for what i've tried.. i'll give it another go. Over the years it has worked fine, but with the new (to me) ccm module it doesn't seem to work, so i'm wondering if the ccm has the keys sync'd from the car it came out of maybe? and needs clearing down to allow mine to...

    Annoying Electrical issues

I did Jinx it with my last post.. was odd, I found broken wires & a couple with broken insulation rubbing on each other.. fixed those and the rear door is now working fine. I put the old ccm in (as i couldn't sync my keys) All seemed to work fine for a few days & then started playing up again...

    Annoying Electrical issues

Just to follow this one up in case anyone else gets frustrated by this! I managed to find a used ccm with the exact same part number and swapped it, even though it had the same number I couldn’t sync my keys easily with it so probably needs vagcom/vcds I’m guessing.. Anyway, after fitting the...

    Key sync to replacement ccm

So following on from a recent post about odd electrical issues. I have found a used ccm with the exact same part number so have installed it and I’m hoping that has cured some of the issues. However I can’t sync the keys now?.. I assumed as I’d got a ccm with the same part number that it would...

    Annoying Electrical issues

Any ideas where the earth connections are?? And you say to check the internals of the ccm, I removed the ccm today and all the plugs/pins look fine, no signs of corrosion however these are the outside connectors of the ccm, I couldn’t open the actual ccm to check internally, is that possible...

    Annoying Electrical issues

Thanks for the replies. I’m hopeful the water leak is sorted now. I think it was coming in from the cabin filter housing seal, the plenham area is clear. Battery wise, I have put a new battery on now as it was pretty old and getting sluggish starting in the winter so that should be good...

    Annoying Electrical issues

Hi All, I will apologise now as this might be a bit of an essay! as it's hard to describe the issue as there is soo much to it. Car is 2004 Audi A4 B6 Avant, in the lovely mauritius blue. 190,000 miles I am going to guess any replies might suggest the CCM as a cause for this but just thought...

    Water ingress prone areas?

Seeing as you've had it all apart, do you know the rubber piece i mean that is next to the fan up behind the glovebox? it has a slit in it which kinda looks like it's meant to be there.. Thats where it seems wet & that seems like it's inline with those aircon pipes, although it's hard to tell...

    Water ingress prone areas?

I’m just hoping lol! Stilll got the glove box off and a cloth stuffed in the rubbery part next to the fan and that’s now wet! What are the aluminium looking pipes next to the pollen filter? I noticed the pipes go down into the metal of the car and have a rubber like tube around them, the pollen...

    Water ingress prone areas?

Well, I’ve left the glovebox out for ages and stuffed a towel under the passenger carpet.. checked it today and it’s soaked! Then I found, there is a rubber piece next to the cooling fan assembly and that has a split in it and is a bit wet inside?!.. Then I poured water down the side of the...

    Water ingress prone areas?

During a break in the rain today I ripped the front footwell apart! Took out the glovebox and pulled the carpet forward as much as I could. This revealed some wet from the front passenger footwell, roughly in the middle. So there is something coming from the front potentially could be the rear...

    Water ingress prone areas?

I've got a b6 avant that is letting water in somewhere!.. got damp carpet mainly in the rear passenger footwell but also, after heavy rain today it's in the front passenger footwell too.. I've checked under the battery & servo, no water builds up in there.. so no idea where it's getting in but...

    Oil sensor warning

Evening, Just been out in my b6 and now have an amber warning it’s a image of an oil can with sensor. A quick Google suggests a faulty oil level sensor, wiring or fuse. I’m not going to have chance to check too much other than the fuse and oil level until the weekend, I assume it’s fine to...

    A4 1.9 TDI AVF jerky when cold(er)

Bit of a long shot, does it start up fine when cold? just thinking possibly air bubble in the fuel lines so not so much a case of warming up but purging out the air and it then running fine? Like i say.. a long shot, but just something that came to mind. I'm not sure what these cars do...

Audi S3 sportback steering wheel creak

can you tell if the creak is coming from the steering wheel area itself or more under the bonnet? Only thinking, my old mk4 golf had a bit of creaking when steering & my b6 does now.. it seems to be the clock spring (whatever it's called) which is behind the steering wheel.. just a thought

Passenger side front window stopped working

That part you linked to is the window regulator. I've changed many of those on my b6 a4! When those fail you will still have power to the window & the glass usually attempts to go up or down only to then get all messed up, so if you've got no power to the motor then that part isn't what you...
