    That would do my head in. Sure it’s not the sunroof creaking? Is there anything in the cubby hole as that’s where the lever for the towbar is? Not got a loose wheel arch liner? Take the warning triangle out the boot door and see if that makes a difference

    If this is an stronic gearbox then you’ll take a risk with any car you buy, so I’d get them to repair it for you if you like the car. At that price I assume it’s the mech unit that’s gone, which are very common.
