    Thanks for the reply Sir. I did resolve the issue thankfully , it turned out to be the coolant reservoir cap was faulty and there was as a result an airlock in the coolant system. Changed the cap and then ran the engine with the cap off with the heater set to hot to purge the air out and its...

    It seems unlikely that there wouldn't be any engine damage, if your handy with the spanners then a straight engine swap would probably be the way to go.. £150 is a bit low for scrap, you could make plenty more by parting it out yourself

    Looking to get a B8.5 A4 2.0 TDI 175bhp and have it Remapped _- Superchips is indicating 210 BHP and 430 NM - this sounds pretty decent, when chipped are the 2.0 much slower than a standard 3.0 TDI ?

    I sealed mine up but in the end it kept failing, I got ****** off and got a modified tandem pump second hand off ebay from a 2009 A3 and fitted it - they have a modified fitting design that wont come loose.

    Mines on 230K and still on the original clutch and its remapped lol....crazy isnt it they last so long - the best Audi quality before they started producing crap!! Where about is your rust , is it structural or just the usual front wings / roof gutter type stuff?
