I’ve owned my RS3 PFL for over 8 years now and generally it has been reliable.
This video has a very good guide for the 8V.

I had to change the disks and pads at 15k miles as they were worn out. It was a good decision as the standard ones have...
I’ve had the car for 8 years now and in that time the car has been upgrading to a Revo Stage 1, which felt like a noticeable jump in performance over standard. Then 2 years later I felt that a little more performance would make the car a nicer drive so opted for a Revo Stage 2...
An update regarding the misfire issue.
The car went back to the garage for further diagnostics as the misfires have now returned on cold starts.
It does seems to be a carbon build-up issue.
So the garage suggested to take the head off to do the carbon clean.
As it will be in for a while with...
I found a reference website to the engine but wasn't sure if it was Multi Port Injection or not from their description.

I did speak to the mechanic this week and he did say it could be a oxygen sensor. I will ask him about the checking if...
I’ve fitted the new APR Coil Packs and it has made the drivability of the car noticeable better.
With the 48k miles OEM coil packs there was noticeable bogging at higher rpm when accelerating the new coil packs has made the engine free revving.
Hard to say if there is a difference in the...
Mines a CZGB.
I must have looked at the wrong ones previously as I thought they were really expensive. Looking at Awesome GTI APR ones are only £35.75 each so £179 isn't too bad.
When doing the initial diagnosis on the misfire the coil packs were changed and swapped around temporarily with old ones but the misfire continued.
It sounds like they will be the next obvious part to change.
Not looking forward getting that bill.
Another update. The lumpy cold start is still there but now there is a misfire being reported.
Here is the fault codes for the misfire.
So it needs further investigation by the garage to find out what is causing it.
The sparkplugs did look very well used so I'm glad they were replaced.
When I went to collect the car there was still a random misfire when the garage was testing it so they had swapped the coil packs out to see how I could get on with it. When I went to start the car the random misfire was...
Update on the hesitation issue .
It went in for a MOT and service at 44k miles at the dealer at the end of February and I did mention the issue.
They reported back that there were no fault codes logged so I thought it was nothing too serious and left it.
Over the next few months the hesitation...
I have never noticed that the timing being pulled. I used to switch maps when it was warm but the car felt slow and not as responsive I just left it on 102 map.
When I had my car dynoed they refused to do it unless I switched the map from 102 to 98. I wasn't running 102 race fuel he didn't want...
For the past 3 years I use Millers Oil "Petrol Power EOMAX – Multi-Shot" with every fill up of Shell V-Power to use with the Revo 102 map.
I haven't had any issues so far using octane booster regularly and the performance has been real good on that map.
But Infinit Performance has two videos...
My 2016 Pre-Facelift RS3 with the CZGB engine with 43K miles has started developing an issue when accelerating under full throttle.
At 5k rpm there is a noticeable hesitation and sometimes the revs dropping to 4k with the exhaust popping as if the accelerator had been lifted off.
When trying...
I went with Revo Stage 2 upgraded from Revo Stage 1 for my 2016 model with the following hardware:-
Airtec Intercooler
Milltek SSXAU587 Primary Hi-Flow Sports Cat and Turbo Elbow
Revo Carbon Series Intake
Revo Propanel Air Filter Element
Revo Switchable map (Stock, 95, 98, 102)
I felt the...
That's a shame that the start of your car ownership has been such hassle with your dealer unwilling to help you.
The downpipe with a sports cat just passed the MOT luckily the dealer were helpful enough to spent some time making sure the cat was as hot as possible so it would pass the emissions...
On 1st of March It’s been 6 years since picking up my RS3 in 2016 and with 37,000 miles have no regrets in my purchase.
Collection up day:-

First year of owning the car...
Awesome GTI posted some performance numbers for a stock RS3
The numbers they got from using a Dragy was:-
0 to 60 mph in 3.38 sec
1/4 mile 11.55 @ 118mph
100kph to 200kph in 9.44sec
Comparing those with my pre-facelift 8v stage 2 with around 450hp I got this from a Vbox:-
0 to 60 mph in 3.55...
They managed to get 200mph on the clock but the speedometer wouldn't register anything above that.
The official recorded speed was 211mph
Shame the car was destroyed by a fire.
Took my pre-facelift stage 2 RS3 to Vmax200 and I found my indicated speed of 181mph was actually only 173.2mph according to the V-Box and official time of 173.31mph.
A tuned facelift RS3 has more legs at higher speeds with a 530hp RS3 passing me at 136mph and maxed out at 176mph.
Here is a...
