It’s my wife’s fault tho as her car has wireless CarPlay and it’s great not having to think about connecting it up etc [emoji1787]...
Yeah unfortunately they started charging from 1st December - guess we enjoyed the free renewals whilst we could get them

The biggest loss for me has been losing the Google overlay on sat nav (there’s another thread on here and other places about that) That and traffic is the only thing I’ve ever used - when the license expires I won’t renew but use my CarPlay for Google Maps / Waze

As DJAlix says does need a key to be hidden in the car. Watch the videos as there is an engine cut out to prevent someone smashing window and trying to drive off...

The activation I got once which scared the heck out of me was reversing. I’d seen the Telecomms cabinet on the kerb so reversing fairly slowly to park up.

From memory the current generation A4 (& other newer Audi’s from memory) you can’t install the speed cameras database on. There’s a list on the POIBASE website

Not sure if I’m honest - check the licence period, could be it’s all expired and potential why you can’t connect?
If that’s the case just give Audi CS a call and ask them to extend the licenses - I think it’s still free as they hadn’t worked out how to charge.

Having fitted a few now using the plastic tool and running the cable along the top of windscreen and down the pillar thankfully touch wood never had this issue.
Hopefully you’ll get the new screen sorted without any issues just remember if you have cameras etc fitted in the windscreen make...
