Does anyone actually know how to fix hot air from passenger side vents with A/C on?

Appreciate the guidance Craig, thank you. If the settings 'respond more passively' in eco setting, what exactly happens? Does it just take longer to adjust to temperature variations, or what?

Does anyone actually know how to fix hot air from passenger side vents with A/C on?

Not sure if your question is for me, Alin, but I'm no expert unfortunately. I find that if you press in the left hand knob so that the red light in the centre comes on, that seems to get the system to call for heat up to the temperature chosen by the individual thermostat knobs. Not all...

Goodbye Vauxhall (sort of), well hello Audi S3

That thing you've got about shiny tail pipes .. I'm the same (must be OCD too!) but, irrespective of how dirty the car is, I always take a damp cloth to the tail pipes once I've parked back home for the day. The whole quad pipe look was one of the many things that appealed to me from the...

Does anyone actually know how to fix hot air from passenger side vents with A/C on?

I don't know if my recent experience will help, or even if it's relevant, but I was having a problem in my S3 with lack of heat, even when it was frosty outside. Turned out to be a defective valve: Part No. A4HO 121 671 D 'Coolant Pump/Valve' (£116.58 + labour + vat). I always have the right...

Goodbye Vauxhall (sort of), well hello Audi S3

Just trawled my way through your thread, Harvey! There was a time when I too was a Vauxhall owner, through my company car policy at the time. I ended that tenure with a Black GSi 2.5 (can't remember the year, it was a 'V' reg). I loved that car, Recaro seats and all and it really got a move...

Can't seem to get any heat into the car after several miles

I said I'd report back after the annual service and MOT: Upshot of the heater issue was a defective heater valve, requiring the fitting of a new Coolant/Pump Valve. This cost £116.58 (part) and £212.50 (labour) in addition to the interim service + MOT at approx. £250 .. all prices (not MOT)...

Can't seem to get any heat into the car after several miles

Thanks for all your comments .. I'll report back after service. I'm hoping that, with only just over 21,000 miles covered from new, important components haven't yet worn out!

Can't seem to get any heat into the car after several miles

Thank you RS03_SEN, that's exactly like mine (even down to the face mask!). I've just read other replies below yours and have a feeling that this might be something worth mentioning to my Audi dealership when it goes in for its annual service and MOT in a couple of weeks time.

Can't seem to get any heat into the car after several miles

My S3 Saloon is now 6 years old and in all that time I've not really had an issue with heating. I've always had the right hand control set to A/C and the left hand one to Auto. The individual thermostats are set at 74degF on the left (my wife is a chilly mortal) and 70degF on my side. My...

Depreciation of new RS3 vs. new S3

Later this year, as my S3 saloon nears its sixth birthday, I'm considering trading up to a new RS3 saloon. I've been wondering if anyone might know how the depreciation of the S3 and the RS3 compare, i.e. would a new RS3 hold its price better than another new S3 over, say, a five to six year...

Interested in dashcam: Does Audi do one they can fit?

Thanks again .. it's still on the 'looking into it' list, so I'm grateful for yours and others input on here.

Interested in dashcam: Does Audi do one they can fit?

Thanks again mjcairney ... there's a branch of CEX in my town so I'll take a look in there. Hopefully they'll be able to guide me through the minefield that is smartphone land (shame they don't do one with Windows OS with which I'm already very familiar; I know absolutely nothing about Android...

Interested in dashcam: Does Audi do one they can fit?

DJALix: Thank you for your PM .. I'll hang onto your number and maybe give you a call. jrumball: Thanks for the explanation about Android and iOS but, although I've heard of them, I honestly don't know what they are. I occasionally switch on my Nokia 6021, which I retained when I retired in...

Interested in dashcam: Does Audi do one they can fit?

More helpful answers .. thank you everyone. Further research has so far only served to complicate the issue somewhat! Not really knowing what I want is the first thing, I guess. Nearly all product details and reviews mention the use of smartphone apps for setting modes and reviewing footage...

Interested in dashcam: Does Audi do one they can fit?

Lots of helpful replies .. many thanks to you all. NHN: Thank you, I know you mean well, but 'Ping me a whatsapp' is a foreign country I'm afraid! Shawn8V: Thanks, but I wouldn't want to mess around with any part of my car (bought new and subsequently exclusively looked after by Audi)...

Interested in dashcam: Does Audi do one they can fit?

More and more people are fitting dashcams these days, so I thought I'd make some tentative enquiries. I don't have a smart phone or any other mobile 'device', so any dashcam would need to have a removable SD card that I could pop into my PC when I got home. I wouldn't want trailing wires with...

What do the prefix numbers mean?

Interesting debate, guys .. thanks for looking in. Personally I agree with those who feel the numbers are pretty meaningless. Here in good old Blighty we've used bhp or hp for donkeys years and more recently the spec sheets have been quoting power in ps numbers, which is close enough I...

What do the prefix numbers mean?

A general question here ... I've noticed alongside the make and model descriptions of various different Audis that there is a number, usually 30, 35 or 40, that precedes the 'TFSi' or 'TDi' part of a model name. What do these numbers mean? I can't get them to relate to engine sizes, but they...
