    Cross threaded front hub

How would I go about getting the size of the thread? Forgive my ignorance, just something I've not done on a car before.

    Cross threaded front hub

How much would a tap be? Just thinking if it's worth while attempting it myself or accepting the cost for a new hub? I'd say someone has already attempted fixing it.

    Cross threaded front hub

Just had the front wheel off and found one of the bolt holes has been cross threaded. Can it be rethreaded or would the hub need replaced? Ta.

B9 heated wing mirror not heating

Oh happy days! I'll give that a go too and see how I get on. Might replace the female spade connectors if it comes down to it.

    MK1 - Variable Timing Valve

Have a fault that's flagging a fault with the variable timing valve/solenoid. Going to take it off for a clean but with 135k miles I'd say it probably needs replaced. Anyone know of a how-to for removing it? Part number for an '04 BAM 225 So I can check prices? Ta.

B9 heated wing mirror not heating

So noticed this morning that the heated mirrors are being shown as on under the efficiency screen, never noticed that before, still nothing happening though. If the power is getting to them, presumably the heat pad/element bonded to the back of the glass could be burnt out? Does that mean new...

B9 heated wing mirror not heating

Just realised neither of mine are working. Took the mirrors out, checked the contacts, all seems fine. Did you find the cause of the failure?

    Brake Wear Indicator

Ah, mine car is at 43k. Just a waiting game then. Cheers

    Brake Wear Indicator

Just noticed my rear brake pads are quite thin, perhaps 3-4 mm left on them. At what point does the brake wear indicator kick in? Can't ever remember previous cars getting as low without prior warning

    Sounds a bit dull..

See what you mean. Once you start chopping there's no going back lol. I'm maybe over thinking it, but it is a tad mediocre, even the wife noticed and was unimpressed for the power the car has. I'll maybe just get some artificial exhaust noise for inside the car lol

    Sounds a bit dull..

It's a late 2016 Sline model with 43k on the clock. It just seems very normal lol. A mate said the right intake might help but not sure. Been years since I went with a K&N or anything, always thought the suction noise was a bit **** lol.

    Sounds a bit dull..

So just picked up my 2.0T 252 quattro and loving it. Hard to fault it really. It's no V6, but the sound from it is just so...., so...., boring. Even my old B7 2.0T sounded way better. Ok, I could add some monstrous exhaust but I reckon it would be overkill for all I want. To me it just needs a...

    B8.5 - 2.0T or S4?

GSI 2000, showing your age there :wink new: Was looking through the posts on the 2.0T oil issue, think I'll steer clear, although it's always easy to find faults and problems when you go looking for them. Wonder how long it will take to find a good S4? :concern: Not too many around here in NI...

    B8.5 - 2.0T or S4?

Think I've been convinced on the S4. Would you entertain anything high mileage? Not a massive amount around to choose from so broadening my search. Anything to look out for on a test drive?
