Nice one ST200 , thanks.
I usually have mine connected to my 51 year old mgb gt.
Interesting that you had it connected with the car locked . That has given me confidence to use it on mine and our VW Up runaround.
Thks for fast replies. Cant justify using it Wolf in current climate
Alan , i did wonder about that. I do have a Accumate battery conditioner I use for my classic car. I wasn't sure how safe it is to use on modern car with all the electronics .
I know small issue in the current crisis.
I cannot justify using my S3 as local supermarket is 7 mins walk away.
I have been thinking of starting it every couple of weeks and sitting at fast idle till oil is up to temp.
What do you all think ?
Maybe worth investing in a Dekra survey and inform both Audi and the indie that is what you are doing.
Think also worth involving the indie . They may be insured against this type of issue. If fault cannot be proven there should be a compromise between all parties.
With the problem coming up to 2 years old , I personally do not think there is a real fix. They are messing around with software to mask the problem . Do not be surprised to see this engine disappear and be replaced with something different. Remember they have not launched it in the US for fear...
I guess it is part of the pcp culture. The original owner doesn't care, and the second owner is out of warranty.
I really like my S3 , it is now 4 years old and 25 k miles . Have a 5 year warranty, but as low mileage and now have a great indy to look after it , thinking of waiting till new A3...
There are now 2220 posts on one thread about this. ( sorry do not have a link).on thr TRoc forum.
The reason for no update for some is there is not one update. There are currently 10 different updates , and more on the way . For a very short time there was the official TPI on that thread , but...
Ok , on the Troc and skoda forum is that fix has not worked , and for our Troc they have not yet got a fix .
If it has worked that is great news .
Will wait and see if and when they come up with a fix for ours.
Ok I see there is a 2.0 miller cycle ea888 engine. So your question is a good one.
Maybe the extra power , different turbo . Clearly 18 months and not resolved there has to be a reason. Software fix seems like a band aid.
Is the A4 the 1.5 ?
Apparently the dsg still has it , but masks the the symptoms.
As far as I see on the forums they are not fixing the problem. There are currently 10 fixes and apparently dependant on engine/ chasis number.
That seems to indicate they have been trying different solutions at...
