I'll give that a try. At first I thought it was a bit of lose trim in the boot - maybe the panel where the tool kit is but I've secured everything I can see.
If slamming the bench doesn't do the trick then it'll be a trip to the dealers.
I've got a 16 plate S3 that's just had its first birthday and has done 8k miles.
It's developed a lovely creaking noise from the rear drivers side whenever the road surface changes or I drive over a bump of any size. Starting to do my head in!
Has anyone else had this with their S3...
Checked my oil yesterday on my S3 and noticed that the coolant was sitting on the min line.
It was bought in March and has just covered 6,000 miles. I've never noticed the coolant move until now.
Should I be worried? Ok to top it up with tap water?
Noticed that the standard bulbs in my S3 are pretty dim and was wondering if anyone has tried these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A3-8v-Full-LED-Interior-7pcs-Ultra-Bright-5730-SMD-Bulbs-White-Error-Free-/162078170680?fits=Car+Make%3AAudi&hash=item25bc9c9e38:g:1qQAAOSwLnBX2iUG ?
No problem. Was around £650.00. Not cheap but it's spot on - if you didn't know it had been replaced, you wouldn't know. The guy who did it is well renowned it the VAG world and is a really nice fella.
Another update - she's back!
Really impressed with the job - you'd never know that it had been bumped, thankfully.
Now just to make sure it stays looking this good :)
Big thanks to CJR bodyshop - I'd recommend them to anyone local to West Yorkshire.
Just to update, the car has gone to the bodyshop today. It's having a new rear bumper fitted and the light that I bought will be fitted at the same time. She should be good as new when I collect on Wednesday.
It turned out the bumper was actually creased when closely inspected, hence why I...
I may change it if I get time over the weekend - if not, it's no big deal as the damage to the bumper is much more noticeable than the light anyway!
Yep, they've said it will take a couple of days. He did mention there was a possibility of getting me in before the 11th April so fingers...
Yeah, that's a good point actually. When I went to see the guy who owns the bodyshop, he actually offered to fit the light whilst he's got the car, which I thought was a nice touch.
I'll probably leave it to him. Although I can't imagine it being hard to fit and I've replaced a few before (just...
Got my new (well, used) rear light today. Took a gamble on eBay and found one for £70, inc. postage. I only ordered it yesterday so good service from the seller.
At first glance it looks to be in great condition but I'll run the machine polisher over it just to remove some fine swirls (probably...
I would definitely rather keep the insurance company at bay on this one. Hoping I can pick up a good used light for £100 ish and then polish it up so that it looks as new (if required). £250.00 for the bumper repair to what should be a very high standard so £350 ish in total.
I got a really...
Thanks for this, Tony, really helpful.
There's a few lights on eBay at the moment if you search using the part number you mentioned (8V3945096B). I want the best condition one I can find so I'll keep my eyes peeled and study the pictures closely! I've got a machine polisher and all the kit at...
