    RSQ3 RSQ3

Oh yes! This deserves a new thread.

Me too. It depends on how fussy you are. The LHD mounting points don’t work so become superfluous. There is no support for large air filter so this would need figured out. It can, obviously, be made to work, as APR ran one in their nine second TTRS. Ecotune have also fitted one to the 600bhp...

Hi Ross, This is with my car at Stage 2, nothing done with the turbo yet. The graph I posted above was before, and after, the Forge inlet, back pipe & inlet manifold elbow / DV were fitted. As far as I’m aware there was no mapping done with the exception of Mihnea very kindly supplying an Old...

Mostly Brian Downie using RCM parts and block build. Lots of fun and more than the odd moment of frustration just as you did. I used to follow your project on SN or 22B. Good times.

I should have done the same. Had an offer on a 2.2 that I should have taken. By that time I was in way too deep. Apologies for taking this off track & good luck with the RS3.

LOL, likewise, I don’t miss the drama either. Nor the cost of getting to somewhere close to 500 with a laggy GT3076.

Of course. Fortunately my 18plate doesn’t suffer from this addition. As an aside, have you come from the world of Impreza’s?

I was certainly recommended to go with an intercooler & a BCS downpipe and, given my results, would have no hesitation in doing the same again.

You don’t need to spend £1400 on an IE intake for 500hp. I’ve been tempted too, mainly for the carbon look but didn’t need it. A Forge turbo inlet pipe, larger back pipe & a K&N filter is all that I’ve had fitted on the inlet side. The first two only added 25hp with no peak torque improvement...

I know it’s not an answer but how much power are you looking for?

MRC stage 1 and IE carbon intake

Sorry to say but this is partly misinformation. I’ve had my Stage 2 work all done by Dave. The tune was completed remotely by Mihnea with Dave running the car and logging. A Stage 1 tune could well just be a generic map but it will be completely down to MRC and, as such, it will make no...

    Stage Three Build

You will probably need to factor in a set of upgraded, secondary injectors as this seems to be fairly standard on a TTE700 build.

    Rs3 Eventuri Intake and others

I like the APR Carbon cross pipe but, apparently, like the APR Turbo Inlet, it won’t fit RHD cars. I am also reluctant to pay £1400 to £1800 for a full carbon system that appears to provide very little gain.

AUDI RS3 8V Facelift BCS Powervalve Downpipe and Cat Del / 100 Cell Cat

Another very happy BCS customer here. Excellent quality and a very nice sound in dynamic with an MRC Stage 2 map. I could easily live without the pops & bangs but didn’t have the option.

    Opinions of Stage 2 on Pre-Facelift RS3

I agree with you. You can always add intake & exhaust parts easily. The intercooler is a more time consuming / specialist job. There will be lots on here who have done it already.

    Opinions of Stage 2 on Pre-Facelift RS3

Yes, I understand that. FL S2 goes over 500hp with the standard exhaust, only a de-cat and an air filter, no intake. I would be tempted to ask for a second opinion on what’s necessary before spending £1500+ on an intake & exhaust.

    Opinions of Stage 2 on Pre-Facelift RS3

I would be surprised if the exhaust is that restrictive it won’t cope with a Stage 2. My FL Stage 2 only has the downpipe replaced. The sports exhaust on your PFL has got to be worth a try.

    Opinions of Stage 2 on Pre-Facelift RS3

Do you need an exhaust system for Stage 2? Is the money not better spent on a sports cat or de-cat? Sorry to give you questions rather than answers.

Difference between 8p and 8v intakes

I understand that additional theatre may be desirable. I certainly wasn’t suggesting that you were planning to make a rough one for yourself. However, why do fabricators not take some time to grind the weld smooth before coating & add a bit to the price? It still wouldn’t approach the £1k+ of...

Difference between 8p and 8v intakes

I don’t understand why anyone would want to fit some of the intakes available to a £50K car. I’m not convinced by the CF ones at £1k+ in terms of any performance gains but at least they look the part. Possibly, if the plan is a big turbo & Stage 3 map but for 500hp they are just not necessary...
