Oops, audi a3 2.0l FWD, manual. Will pick up bolts/nuts which need to be renewed (as per audi's guide). I've got a torque wrench on hand + torque settings as per haynes/audi guide.

Swap out turbo whilst gearbox is off?

Hi All, I will be fitting a new clutch and turbo shortly, whilst removing the EGR and DPF for a clean. I just wanted some advice on the best way to go about it. I'm thinking the best approach is as follows: 1) Remove the gearbox 2) Remove turbo + DPF 3) Remove EGR . Also 'special tools' -...

    Exhaust Fitting Query

So, if you look at any part of the milltek exhaust system it will have notches/slits which I believe are designed to slide over the proceeding pipe. See picture attached, notice the twin tips, both slide over the proceeding pipe to the back box. In my case (as you can see from the centre pipe...

    Exhaust Fitting Query

Does your centre section come with two pipes? I think the TDI sizes match your TFSI. 2.75" (Miltek) 63.5mm (DPF). Milltek do supply this part as well. But youre right, you clamp both sides + some exhaust paste etc.

    Exhaust Fitting Query

the milltek kit comes with the reducer (I think you get two, varying sizes)

How many miles do you get from a tank of fuel?

Damn, I thought Quattro gave worse MPG than a FWD. I've got a FWD 2.0 TDI and I get 520miles @ 51litres...I suspect I would get another 40miles before completely emptying the tank.

Rusted sil/side skirt - can it be replaced?

Indeed, probably until I'm forced to scrap the car because of some diesel ban scrap scheme :whistle2: I will be done with the engine/transmission mods in a few months. My only concern is that the rust spreads beyond the sill.

    CFFB engine correct EGR valve

To add, I've got an 8PA with the same engine code (CFFB). Mine started out as the EGR which later turned out to be the DPF.

    CFFB engine correct EGR valve

Garage might be reluctant to touch it because the EGR valve isn't located on the front of the car like it was for earlier models. You should be able to source the blanking plate from darksidedevelopment or find a tuner who will blank the EGR and disable it from the software side of things.

Rusted sil/side skirt - can it be replaced?

The job is completed on the garages part and the sill has been undersealed etc. I need to paint it but will come back to it. I think this post has been overlooked:

Rusted sil/side skirt - can it be replaced?

:whistle2: so long as it doesnt fall off. The welding goes underneath to the floor pane.

Rusted sil/side skirt - can it be replaced?

Went to collect the car. I believe the pictures he had sent me were to show me the work he had completed before doing the above as mentioned by danrst171. I still need to smooth/paint it.

Rusted sil/side skirt - can it be replaced?

So, I've had the rusted sill section cut out and replaced. I've yet to collect the car. The only thing jumping out at me are the 'tacks' and how I would go about smoothing those out?

    A3 s-line 2.0 tdi - upgrading brakes from 288mm to 312mm or 345mm

Same as mine (2010). Will point out one thing, the clearance between the front caliper and alloy is greatly reduced. But from what I've read its perfectly fine and I've had no issues. I'm on 18" wheels

    A3 s-line 2.0 tdi - upgrading brakes from 288mm to 312mm or 345mm

Hmm, may depends on your car. Is it the 1.9 tdi where the rears (310mm) won't fit because of the hub size?
