a6 19tdi starts ok, floor the excelerator, slow reponce untill 2-4000 rpm, then ok

Could be a number of issues, MAF sensor, N75 (controlling the turbo vanes). Stuck VNT vanes/actuator. Vacuum leak somewhere. Get the car on VCDS and read the fault codes.

Awx questions and inlet manifold interchangeability?

Cleaning the manifold/EGR is not a big job, takes a bit of time and is messy, but brake cleaner/thinners works a treat! I believe all AWX's are 130, however all inlets are not the same. If you are looking for a replacment it must have been removed from a Passat/A4/A6 as they are longitudinally...

Headlights arent great. How to improve?

I'm using a cheap H7 HID kit on my aftermarket headlamps, generally with HID's I would only tend to fit them if the headlamp had a projector lens (the round spherical glass ball which the C5 has), this focus's the light better and reduces dazzling compared to reflector only. Also you need a...

    Heated Mirror Issue

I was considering re-wiring the rear window de-mister switch to the mirrors (like Renault do on a 2002 Laguna for example) via this link: AudiWorld Tech Articles Ancidently how much is a genuine OEM mirror from Audi? I think maybe an eBay one may work well with the re-wiring to the rear...

    Headlight question

Can you not access the motor by removing the bulb access panel on the back? On 97-01 models you can then remove the motor by turning it 90 degrees. Simples. Not sure on the later C5.

    Immobiliser Instrument Cluster Key Coding

I see, Mine is a 1.9 TDi, therefore a Bosch VP37 iirc? and I've got Immo II (early C5), either/both may explain this.

What do I need to retrofit DIS to my A6

I'm still in the process of doing a retro fit of DIS on my 1998 A6 C5. So far I have wired up the stalk controls, thats just a case of matching up the colours on a bit of harness from the stalk and the IC, I now need to find a consumption signal (for mpg, range ect), then I need to re-wire some...

    DRL

They can be split apart, they are bonded together, the glue can be softened with paint thinners. But it's a bit of a messy time consuming job. I've seen some on facelift B5 A4's use a hobb drill to cut the lens off nice and tidy, then re-seal it back on. The break is hidden behind the rubber...

    Immobiliser Instrument Cluster Key Coding

Easiest thing to do is obtain another cluster and get the key fob that came with the car with the immobilizer transponder, this way using VCDS you can match the ECU to the new cluster and key (it's the equivalent of doing an ECU swap with VCDS) I've done this on my Immo II A6 many times. This...

    Wheel Advice Please

I'd say the offset is too high and the problem will be the front strut will hit the tyre/rim. Spacers will fix the issue. I'd say 20mm to bring it down to ET32

    LCD QUESTION

I'm gonna send mine to a chap on ebay who will fit a replacement for £72, considering that a screen is £30ish, and he supplies that I've tried it myself on a spare one and it wasn't successfull, may just be my incompetence in soldering ribbon, but hey for cost of postage to him and £40 I think...

What size tyres for 20" wheels 8.5" wide ET 45 ?

I'm running 225/35 tyres on my 20's, my car is a tad lower and not really going for an OE look, the tyres are stretched a bit. The offset is ET35 which I believe is the minimum i'd say you could run. With the suspension as low as i've gone on mine then next issue is the actual arch clearance on...

Help coding a A4 B5 DIS cluter to a A6 C5 (non DIS) fuel gauge adaptation value?

Not done a compat test, how do i go about this? It's a 1998 A6 1.9 TDi i'm fitting to. And I have Immo 2 (14 digit immo code), I have the immo key aswell to the new cluster and planned to re-code the ECU to the new cluster and key as if it were an ECU swap as Ross-tech website states. Oh and...

I'm trying to retrofit a cluster from a 2000 A4 B5 to my A6 C5, i've fitted and now wired the stalk in, that works correctly, the question is what do i connect the other pins from the 20 pin connector to? Any ideas where i can get a wiring diagram for a DIS enable car? I'm waiting on my...

Help coding a A4 B5 DIS cluter to a A6 C5 (non DIS) fuel gauge adaptation value?

I'm trying to retrofit a new instrument cluster from a 2000 A4 B5 to my A6 C5, i had it lying around and it didn't sell on ebay so i thought i's give it a shot. I'm waiting on the code for the full lisence for VCDS (to recode the ECU to the new cluster and key), but one issue is that the fuel...
