Has anyone got one of these installed? Think it's worth the money and worthwhile?

I've got stock s3 but going to be flashed, fmic and exhaust later on and I'm looking to bling up the engine a bit. Any opinions app :)

im interested also. it seems alot of money but it does look good!

Its funny i had just asked Bill this question and he said no it makes no real difference. Save your money!

Depends what you want it for really.
The general consensus on here *i think* seems to be that for performance it is not worth it.
If you just want it for the sake of appearance then it is your money and it is up to you.
personally I could think of other thing I would rather spend the cash on.

I dont think its worth the cash but as said above depends if you want to move it for appearance or to get it out the way of something else.

The logic behind it is that its supposed to move the DV away from the heat of the turbo but at the end of the day its pretty damn hot everywhere under that bonnet!

what on earth will you gain in terms of appearance? its just going to be a load of pipes and tubes but in a different position, or is there a new fetish/perversion im not come across yet?!

Gary "wow look at that S3 engine bay, looks clean/looked after"
Simon "but look at this one, his dv now dumps from a different location, WTFPWN that looks sexy, jesus christ, im never looking at another girl again, because that hose is making me LEAK. that bundle of pipes and hoses is TURNING ME ON"

Matt, there are some people out there that will get moist at the sight of a nice shiny dv sitting out in plain view (probably with all colour coded hoses)

some people like it, others don't.

me? i couldn't give a sh*t as long as the pipes don't leak and it is all working...

i just see this as more pipework therefore increasing clutter in the engine bay, the current DV is sat just above where fresh cold air comes in the engine (TIP and air box)...... your telling me the front is much different temp wise? another pointless Forge contraption designed to make them a load of money, you can bet it costs under £10 to provide the bits

You know full well there are people out there like that! Some people pay £££ just to get everything in their engine bays chromed. Personally I couldn't give a crapabout all that ********, I dont even like opening the bonnet ;-)

people assume that because a reputable company is selling it, then it MUST work... big misconception.....i think its called sheep mentality

Then theres the 'i aim to buy everything in Halfords that will fit my car' crew, the type of person who finds this DV relocator appealing is most likely a posher version

he didnt say cromed, just relocated... i did wonder what sort of nutter gets a stiffy from a DV being in one place as opposed to the next in the same engine bay

fill it with pretty colours if you like tho haha

when i went through the grief of putting the silicon hose kit on the s4, after all that work there was no way i was going to have my engine bay look like a monstrosity, i just went for straight forward black

Thanks for the replies guys, not really that interested in buying one now if its not going to do anything!

And i agree with the silicon, gonna try and get black hoses as ive got a black car and anything else would look too out of place.

Yeah its all about stealth and OEM. Look at Tuffty's motor and you cant tell its a 400bhp BT monster without digging about a bit :icon_thumright:

do you get a guy post on here called sambo? 8L 20vt quattro... ive seen that on the rollers getting almost 500bhp on low boost. on the outside your never twig.

yup stealth is the way to go, nice subtle tweeks are fine IMO but loud DV's, bonnet vents and desilenced exhausts?? buy a focus

I think the idea was to keep the dv cooler so the seals lasted longer and that was about the top and bottom of the mod most people say its not worth it iirc

but if you have a 007p why would you wana protect the seals..... i cant see it being much cooler at the front....on top of the TIP you have your benefits

This mod is a waste of time and money. Looks silly with the big *** relocation pipe going to the front too.

mate.... i think your conclusion will still stand, just cant see why this is beneficial at all....surely the extra air space your creating with the extra pipes isnt helping either
