Thans again!!!

Get a quote from Stoke Audi, they are one of the forum advertisers on the forum index when you scroll downwards. It's not as expensive as you think!

Let me know how much one from the Stealers is if you will.... I am in need of one since mine has grown little strut brace legs and walked away...

(pointed out by Jojo @ Ajec!!)

I'd rather have the Audi one mate to be fair, on the APY engine there are loads of little nooks and crannies that allow the brace to fit like a glove, not sure one from another manufacturer would fit through those....

The factory S3 one clears the plastic thing on the passenger side of the car where all the wiring goes through the bulkhead. APY cars with no strutbrace will require drilling, and there are some vacumm hoses on the driver side which need to be bent downwards for the strutbrace to fit.

What do you drill? The holes for the strut brace to fix to?

The strut tops, there's nothing for you to drill, your strut brace has gone walkies lol, just buy a strut brace and the correct bolts for the factory studs on your strut tops. APY cars with no strut brace as standard doesn't have the studs for the strut brace.

Hi lads, i got a price from audi today and it was £68.57 (or thereabouts) which isnt too bad really from a stealers!

But i will sat the bloke i spoke to ''advised'' me not to fit one as if the car didnt come out of the factory with it on, DONT put it on? orcourse i asked the question, 'Whats the difference between me or you or whoever putting it on? surely it doesnt matter who does it, the same procedure must take place???''

I dont know but he reckons he had to tell me this and the choice was upto me lol, loser, just doing his job i suppose!

The apy doesnt have strut top bolts so will i just drill the strut tops and put some bolts through it an a nut and washer inside or the arch?

cheers guys!!

i also forgot to add as i was on the phone to him i got a lecture about ' You shouldnt lower the car, it comes out the factory as it comes out and thats the way it should be'

You might aswell not drive it mate, it's over 10 years old now, and you will wear the parts out lol, get a new S3 instead.

i have one for sale from a s3 im breaking
£40 if you pick up from Windsor/Berkshire

Will check fund availability.....

I would of politely explain to him that Audi thought it needed a strut brace, as it came with one when it left the factory. Sadly, some git has nicked mine, and thats why I need a new one....

Either that or told him to mind his own f*cking business and explained that I am the customer and that he should keep his opinions to himself unless asked!!:eyebrows:
