Calling Aberdeen area S3 owners with bucket Seats

As for useability, the buckets are tops. Long journeys are not a prob for me. I regularly do ABZ to Glasgow for the family connection and it's totally cool. Yes, you have to get used to the new style seats, but when you do, then no looking back, hence, my first option on the new car.

As for the chav/boy-racer factor, wind it in. They look the ******' bomb and they work even better, so final. Won't buy another Audi without them. Even the wife loves them more than standard seats, so result!

Just guessing you work offshore maybe ? and having your belated xmas and new year ? Lucky man if so, I have still got another 8 days to go ........:crying:

Don't work offshore mate, just lucky enough to have had new year in NY. Was cool, but not as good as a proper Hogmannay, kilted and on the whisky from early doors. Don't get me wrong, fantastic city, but no substitute for the "real thing". The yanks like a celebration, but it's over in a flash and then it's just another day. Us Scots like a good day or two run at it, makes for a conversation piece back at work! You'll know that though. Right, best get some kip, up the road early, dig the car out and slide up to Aberdeen, tidy.

Im in Newmachar mate, if you still need a 'go' in them give me a shout...

Kev

:bye:

Cheers Kev,

I'll give you and rich a shout once I'm back onshore and see who's available.
Aberdeen or Newmachar...it's six and two threes for me...I just appreciate the offer!

Glen.

Glen, I'm back in the 'Deen the morn, so give me a shout. Kev, if it's easier for Glen to meet you then cool. Not meaning to be a tnuc, but if Glen "concerned" about fit-ability, then my S3 going back for a trade in in March for a replacement car, so a "trial fit" not a wear and tear concern for me.

Sorry if I'm presuming or insulting anyone here, but there it is.

Jesus...I'm no Rick Waller! :p

I may be tall and heavy...but i'll not break them!

8 days here too...
Not that I'm counting. Much.

 yes me too, longest 5 weeks of my life so far at least ! We are stacked offshore Hai Phong, Vietnam waiting on weather to move rig..... running out of food , no boats, no choppers for last 2 weeks and believe it or not have not see a glimpse of sun for weeks either .............. but i can nearly taste that first Tiger beer :beerchug:

What you fancing S3, a GTI with buckets or R32?

Can't get buckets on a GTI - even as an option.
I'd be happy with a GTI with standard seats - but VW don't seem capable of building them!

Another S3 would be nice...with buckets.

But the thought of a Golf R is giving me sleepless nights :whistle2:
Or rather the £39000 VW are asking for a high-spec R is giving me sleepless nights!

There appears to be a missprint in the Golf R brochure though - it appears to suggest VW want prospective owners to pay £3485 for the buckets. :wtf:

Hmm...makes the central North Sea and it's snow and cold wind seem like a good bet.

Just back from touring Vietnam....................awesome country. Hope you had time to sight see a bit at least.

Mk5 or Mk6? You can get Mk5s with buckets, I'm not sure if you are on about new or used.

Hi Japper, yes been over in Vietnam off and on for about 3 years now so seen most of the place....lived in HCMC for a year but now commuting..... professional scooter rider now !:arco:

Yes, at £3k+ i believe.

VW aren't doing xenons on the mk6 yet either or weren't from launch anyway!

What are VW playing at ?.

£3485 for a 5 door.
They do throw in full (ha!) leather - actually leather/alcantara and the usual fake leather on the bits you don't sit on - heated seats and rear side airbags on the 5 door...for your £3485.
Which makes all the difference.... :whistle2:

You can get Xenons now...it was only the first few months they weren't ready - Xenons with the usual headlight levelling, washers and active cornering etc...at around £1100.

would you not be cheaper buying an Evo ? ,,,fast and handle well !? ;-) ,,,,,what about the Focus Rs ? - front wheel drive but works well .
- have you reached for the pliers yet ?

I probably would be better buying an Evo if I wanted outright performance...but wouldn't have one of those God awful things parked within 50m of my driveway!
Sure they are fast, but I couldn't live with the image...and the running costs make running a 911 look cheap!

Now, stop trying to rub me up the wrong way! You know the sort of cars I buy...and Chav Chariots are out...so no Evo or silly pink badged STI....no matter how capable they are.
I'm getting old...don't feel the need for a huge exhaust, Halfords-tastic spoilers and crap interiors...I just want something well made, comfortable, practical, cheap (ish) to run and reasonable fun.

Focus RS was a serious contender...had a good look...still blow hot and cold over quite how 'big gold rope chain' they are...
I've had too many blue cars, and don't want white...so it would have to be Ultimate Green...
Couldn't live with the interior...so would have to add leather...
Ker-ching - nearly £30k.
...and it wouldn't exactly 'do' subtle if required, would it?

Pliers firmly in my pocket. for now... :icon_thumright:

Yeah, new and with specific options...and practical.
The S3 just isn't cutting it on that count...I'd prefer 5 doors...and don't like the Sportback.
I'm thinking Mk6 Golf...don't fancy paying £38000 for an R...so maybe a GTI.

Ever consider a TTS? I know you said new, so would be over £30k, but ex-demo are well specc'd and circa 30k bangers. They get a lot of stick for being 911 wannabe / women's car / gay (esp. on Eastside!), but I seriously like them. Had one for a weekend with mag ride, very capable car, better drive than the S3 IMO.

Not bad room either, got the MTB in the back with wheels off and back seats down. Rubbish room in back for passengers or kids, that would be the S3 option.

Looks better than the S3 too. Why is it Audi only left the 4 exhausts off the S3 in the entire S range? I'm sure you can spec buckets for the TTS as well, but someone could confirm that. Just my tuppence.

I said S3 because your name is Ess Three! :w00t: I can't believe you don't like the sportback?

£38k for a Golf?!

Yes you can, and I want to get a TT-S cabby for my girlfriend. Well I wanna get it, so I can chuck 20"s on it, slam it, 380bhp and hear we go

Sorry, I meant Cayman wannabe, not 911, sorry.

Yep N8, TTS is a great consideration, even a cab! Lol.

TTS is hardly practical

If the requirement was 3doors then a Rocco R would be the obvious choice :ninja:

Depends what he wants to do with it surely? If he wants to move furniture constantly then no, not practical. Rocco R a contender yes, but only FWD. S3, TTS 4WD. Depends on his overall requirements.
