hi there,
today found my car was so difficult to start

turn the ignition on twice , both time struggled a lot and then stalled.

the dail jump up and down a lot

the third time , I had to push the accelerater on the floor to get the engine started.


it is not a perticular old car, 3years and 18k miles. not a perticular cold afternoon 4 C . the fuel guage just turned red.

happened a few time before, but today is very bad

Could be gunk in the fuel tank when empty getting into the filter and blocking it?

Best bet would be to get it hooked onto vag-com and check for errors. If you don't have access, try finding someone close to you

Personally I wouldn't try to force an engine to start if a few attempts failed and I didn't know what was wrong

I guess it worthwhile paying a visit to a dealer, as the car is still under warranty . thanks guys, at least I know it is not something usual. cheers

have you got aa/rac cover?

they will be able to do an ECU fault code scan for you
