my gaffer as got a bmw o7 plate and both front wheels have cracked 19" hes been qouted £800 a peice from bmw
I had a seriously bent 19 on my S3 before, damn roads are a nightmare really are, in Sussex the roads are the worst I've ever seen in what 18 years of driving, they're a mess, but our different forms of tax keeps going up for sod all services & absolutely terrible roads, this is one reason I dont feel confident going back to 19's cause of the bad roads

yeah you'd think the front would take the majority of the impacts, do they run a wider rim on the rear or something?
I expect that many manufacturers' wheels are made by one supplier - so if there are problems with "soft" alloys, they're unlikely to be a single brand issue.
Had my 5 spoke 18" S-Line jobbies refurbed a couple of months ago and the chappy that did it (Audi-authorised) said that these are the 'softest' alloys that he's come across!

Seems like a bit of an own goal by BMW tbh.
With their reputation on the line, squabbling over this seems rather petty.

Bit off topic, but the response from BMW about "it's the roads fault" happend to my dad, when his rear suspension collapsed, not just on one car, but on his second as well. How do they just fob customers off like that? The suspension was sent to a metallurgist, who said they wee faulty, but bmw didn't want to know!
