Performance Filter For A6 2.7 Bi Turbo

Hi,wonder if anyone can advise on a performance filter for my new A6, its my first Audi and I'm not that up on Audi tuning. I dont wont to go silly just a few small mods. I've tried K&N but they dont seem to list anything.
Any help would be greatful. It's a 1999 model.

hello

standard filter good for 400bhp

rs4 box with air pipe good for 500bhp

dont put a K&N in there as youll be down audi getting a new maf.

if you want cut out the front lower section of the box to aid breathing (just behind the headlamp) otherwise remap should sort all power issues out :)
 
A K&N pannel filter will be fine, just run them dry with no filter oil as this is what buggers the MAF up.

Cone filters just suck in hot air which reduces power.
 
thanks for the repllies, I've always replaced my cars filter with a K&N panel filter, Never been to fussed with the cone filters unless you want to spend time directing cold air to it, I do agree they can make more noise than actually improve performance sometimes. I think i'll go for the K&N panel filter, but they dont seem to list my car, any ideas or part numbers :)

Plus K&N are washable like most so can save money in the long run, and the environment as no disposal of used parts.
 
personaly dont see the point getting a performance filter. Standard prove to work perfectly fine and better that performance ones.

some crush when air flow goes over them means reduce airflow and they give no extra in performance on our engines.

The only kit is one MRC do which is when you want to go over 500bhp due to the airbox being the restriction.

so why spend the money?

personaly I would get the airfilter money and put it into get a pair of 710N DV's as the standard ones are crap and cause loads of problems. Since changing mine car pulls stronger from word go and holds boost better. not bad for £50.
