The Kia does absolutely nothing for me.
As @jassyo06 says it could be zero to 60 in 1 second and I would not care.
The Kia has Zero desirability for me and 'performance' is only part of the equation when picking a car IMO.

There's about as much point comparing the 2 of them as there would be in comparing a car with a motorbike

There’s another drag race against stiffer opposition.
Like I said already, I don’t know why people get so wound up about it, it’s a damn fast EV, one way or another it’s going to be the future unless other options which are currently being explored become a financial possibility.

I'd be more interested in their times at the Green Hell vs 0-30 or 0-60 where the fast ones will always excel vs ICE.

Who's bent out of shape? Here's a radical idea, you're wrong. Far from defending the honour of the RS3, I'm simply saying that it's an EV with much more power than the RS3. Therefore is it any surprise it's quicker? It's like the Top Gear race between the Veyron and the McLaren F1 where the F1 was lighter and the Veyron was much more powerful. The Veyron won. Big surprise. EV's are better off the line and this one has more power. How could the RS3 possibly win?

What Car obviously wanted to pit it against the fastest hatchback in a similar price bracket so it’s a big up for the RS3 if you ask me.
It’s not pointless, it’s a 5 door EV vs a 5 door petrol car, most EV’s are quick off the mark because of the nature of their power delivery, put a 4 wheel one into the equation and it’s going to destroy most things off the line, it’s where the evolution of cars is headed, nothing else currently is making as much noise (damn what a pun
) as EV vehicles and speed, by the time the 5 cylinder is in its sweet spot and the DSG is happy, that Kia is gone. I can honestly see the next RS3 being a petrol / rear electric motor mix (like the C63s) or some high performance EV technology, but Audi seem to be lagging behind on EV performance unless you spend 115k
And as for the comment about being ‘wrong’ ? For what ? Posting a video of a drag race

A similar powered EV 'should' have the advantage all day long tbh, don't forget an electric motor makes max torque when stopped, electric motors/batteries are probably right down near the bottom of their development curve compared to the ICE which is right at the top and I would also think development of ICE is just about non existent ?

I understand the evolution. I also understand where transport in general is heading. What I objected to is your assumption I had some sort of problem with the RS3 being beaten by another car, much less an EV. The most colour I have is the red contrast stitch on my autostyle mats
I guess you should pit the EV against a fully fuelled ICE as well ?
To get to the EV6 GT weight (2200kg based on the dual motor one) you’d have to move up 2 classes to a RS6 though

It’s a sad situation when adding matts is the only way to add colour the A3 interior
Maybe the RS3 is just a ‘night time’ car to bring out any interior colours

All this KIA knocking sounds like when I did my apprenticeship and we all had British Motorcycles, you would get hung and quartered if you
even looked at a Japenese Motorcycle, after all they were 'Jap crap' and would never catch on or be as good as the Britsh Bike, they had character apparently that the Jap crap could never achieve,
The 'Jap crap' also didnt have me taking the clutch or cylinder head off every weekend to fix it for the next weeks rides to work and back.
'Jap crap' motorcycles never did catch on did they

Ive had 3 I can think of and possibly 4, one an ipace *** intent on doing me at every set of lights around a large roundabout, a Model 3 Performance down (actually up) a slip way onto the M53 and then literally leap frogging forward from 70mph every time the car in front of him pulled over,
I could probably stick with the model 3 at those speeds but he's just sitting there, I would have to be waiting for him in 3rd gear and if it was possible (which it isnt) left foot braking to keep the boost up.
And some t*at in a Polestar2 trying to do me from the lights on a roundabout down a slip road onto the same M53/A55
Mind you, If I was sat in an EV i'd do the same
PS..........Dont be frightened of Polestars, thats one EV thats do-able
PPS.......Dont try it in Manual as you wont get away with hitting the rev limiter, they jump up the side of you about 3 feet every time the DSG changes (from Golf R experience)

Ev6 is 3.5 to 60 petrol ped timed it at 3.26 I believe.
RS3 8Y seems to get between 3.3-3.5 to 60 in a lot of drag races
The EV6 trump card is it’s 740nm of Torque and all that extra weight just helps it grip and go.
