While waiting for the RS3 8Y to arrive (between August and September) I am searching the internet for information on how to improve performance.
Unfortunately it seems that it is still not possible to map the ECU.
ABT has available an upgrade with its own additional control unit. MTM only has CAMTRONIC upgrades available and not through mapping.
Wagner has confirmed his EVO1 intercooler installation. I don't know if his EVO2 makes sense as the new grill is completely closed in the number plate area.
Eventuri's intake kit can be installed, also his Turbo In let kit, but if you can't map they don't make much sense .
Miltek has made a catback without resonators but it doesn't seem to me absolutely justified . From the video published the difference with original is really ridiculous.
ASR already has a kit available to handle exhaust valve opening.
I have not yet found a solution to install a sport catalytic converter eliminating OPF ... Surely all the downpipes tuned on the 8V OPF could be installed but without a map the ECU would immediately signal an error. I haven't found an emulator either. Using Leib emulator at least on BMW and Mini you can eliminate OPF .
Do any forum users have any information on this?

528 hp with intercooler, catalytic converter and original OPF sounds like a miracle. The 0-100 and 100-200 performance makes it seem real. If you watch the end of the video they also show their modified intake manifold. I have never seen this component modified before.

Early RS3 had a 'weir' type obstruction that ran the length of the manifold to help equal air distribution, I imagine it was designed for the std 365hp, Andy at Storm Developments managed to get the 'weir' machined down by going in through the inlet ports, he said it made quite a difference, we never did ours though, the only mod we did was removal of the flap system in the inlet as we fitted port injection as well
 
HGP replied to my email for information. Confirmed that they can map the ECU and can disable OPF control and catalytic converter allowing installation of sport catalytic converter and elimination of OPF. You have to send them the control unit, but they will send you the intake pipe, turbo inlet and intake manifold. I asked out of curiosity about the price without TUV approval.
Theoretically there should be a line of RS3 8Ys in front of their workshop. They would be the only ones to be able to map the ECU. But the price is really high. If we quantify an intake system including turbo inlet at about 1,000 to 1,200 €, a good map at 1,000 €, an intake manifold at another 1,000 €, the correct price is between 3,000 and 4,000 €. 8,500 € is a lot.

What is their secret to map ECU when anybody else can't do?
So just ECU to them and they send it back as mapped+other tuning parts. Then just handle installation.
 
Is 394bhp really not enough in this size car.

It really depends on how well the car handles the hp, 394bhp with just front wheel drive would be a nightmare, but there again my sons Golf Mk2, with RS3 engine at 525bhp/4WD with rear haldex also handles it very well, you can floor it with just forefinger and thumb holding the steering wheel :)

Picture they attached is definitely realtiva to an 8V FL ( it is the old Eventuri intake kit ) . The intake manifold with MTM logo looks identical to that of the HGP-turbo . Considering the declared power, I would not be surprised if they sell HGP-Turbo kits only "MTMized".

among the various responses to comments on the public video Grail DE speaks of an OBD key to clear errors after installation decat and elimination OPF . I wrote them an email for info but unfortunately they replied that this mythical OBD key is under development. So at the moment nothing concrete.

I’ve also emailed and commented on there stuff and never got a reply to the email but the also just said it’s a temporary fix and in production. I wonder if they have reached the same amount of miles as me and the errors happened.

Even years ago stuff was happening within the ecu, I had a 993 Porsche mapped by the 'original' AMD bloke in about 1998, After a hundred miles or so on the way home it went into limp mode :(
 
I got a reply from Leib enginering https://www.leib-engineering.de/ . They are working on an OPF deleter for Porsche and Audi RS . On BMW and Mini they managed to find an effective solution . Hopefully they succeed on Audi too . Unfortunately on Audi RS3 you are forced to modify the original downpipe to eliminate only the OPF.

These cars don’t run lean when you remove the decat, I was told all this by a tuner and tbh, when I ran it for 800 miles had absolutely no issues at all regarding it
 
I have already covered 10,000 km on the MINI CooperS F56 MY 2021 that my wife uses using Leib deleter . No problems encountered. At first, the error code appeared twice on the control unit (OPF inefficient), after two deletions the code has not reappeared. It never turned on a light in the control panel and never entered limp mode. Their device connects between the car wiring and the OPF sensor. I think they have managed to create a variable signal that makes the ECU believe the presence of the OPF even if it is not physically there.
Honestly a solution like this is very interesting for those who don't want to map (either by choice or because they can't do it yet). My current M2 Comptetion has changed radically by eliminating OPF . A decent exhaust sound ( not from electric car ) and gained 20 hp of power .

Exhaust order of things, Turbo--Cat--OPF.
The cat normally has an 02 sensor before and after it, the 'before' 02 sensor trims the fueling and the after one makes sure that the cat is actually working, whether the pre cat one is narrow or wide band I dont know (they're normally narrow band, difference between them is a wide band will alter it's output voltage as fuelling alters so virtually any fueling target can be set from say 11-1 right through to 14.7-1 air fuel ratio.

A narrow band can only target a Lambda of 1, or 14.7-1 air fuel ratio, bascially it will output 0.9v at below 14.7-1 and 0v above 14.7-1, so a little like a switch.

OPF has a pressure sensor either side of the filter and also what looks like and exhaust gas temperature sensor either side as well, so I'm guessing there is a relationship between exhaust temps pre and post OPF and pre and post OPF pressures as well making the 'cheat' or OPF 'delete' box a tricky thing to replicate

Racing line have just released a tuning box for the MQB and have the RS3 in development.

From what I understand you buy the tuning box then maps, when available are free, not sure of the price.

I had the first JB4 in the UK on my E90 335i. Very impressive even then.

Stock it was 320bhp, then I had the JB+ which was rediculous for what it cost - dynoed at 380bhp at Evolve then I had the JB3 which gave more power but I never dynoed it. Then the JB4 which gave even more power - again never dynoed it. 30-60mph in 2 seconds.

Do the sensors linked to the opf have any bearing on fuelling etc? Or are they there simply to ensure the opf is fitted?

Sorry I have no idea, I do know that some cars light the cats up with a lot of re*ard on exhaust cam, igntion timing and with direct injection they can also inject fuel straight into the cylinder and down the exhaust port as well, so 'maybe' it does alter fuelling to 'clean' things up with extra temperature?

They have an input on ECU calibrations……

Hence the catch 22 situation of removal = ECU remap.

Wagner is studying EVO 3 intercooler for RS3 8Y . I don't know if it can give any advantage without modifying the honeycomb grill that is completely closed in the license plate area. I think I will opt for EVO 1 version, less weight and less pressure drop.

He's saying it's 8500 euros though as I'm quite sure they sell it as a pack.

Perhaps I have not made myself clear. The amounts I have indicated are my evaluations for a hypothetical correct market price of the HGP kit. But HGP sells the complete package at 8.500 € including TUV approval. I asked for a price without TUV homologation (with or without TUV car homologation in Italy would be illegal) but they didn't answer me.
The price is very high but at the moment there is no alternative. If by the time my car arrives (hopefully by August) there is no alternative, I will make an appointment to take the car directly to HGP. Their office is 7 hours drive from where I live. I don't like to send the ECU with a courier (if they lose it it would be a very complicated situation).
My only doubt is that by installing a sports downpipe there is a risk of exceeding 65 kgm of torque and it is necessary to map the gearbox as well.

Has a ay body tried changing the turbo inlet? Mine is very strange, it has a line coming in from the turbo outlet which gets pressure and has sort of a valve to manage it. And there is another one coming in from the PCV valve.
