Finally got an S3

how can I view the oil and water temp on a car without VC?

On the build info on AUDI app, it’s says it’s got direct tire pressure monitoring system , is that a misprint or can I add the sensors?

can you code the seatbelt pictures to be able to checked at any point (I have kids) I find it really useful to see which seatbelts are used in the rear when I get in the car, but once it goes there is no way to bring it back during a journey

also, is it possible to code the handbrake to activate on P? Can’t understand why it doesn’t really

thanks I’m advance

The oil temp is displayed on the "lap timer" page under the main menu. Coolant temp is irrelevant unless you think there is some issue with the coolant system. What really matters is the oil temp and not booting your car until its up to about 80C or more (in the interests of being kind to your engine). Can't help with the others.

I sorted oil temp this morning, enabled it in VCDS so it displays on the other screens e.g. digital speedo

Set Oil Temperature on all DIS Menus
[17] Instruments
Go to Long Coding
Byte 10, Bit 1. Display Oil Temperature
Tick Box

nice. the fact it isnt displayed on teh main screen is annoying. instead we get this ridiculous boost gauge with flashing lights which are meaningless.

Two clicks of the roller and its quickly visible

I am never that worried, my software has cold start protection and I never gun it from cold but will check it just to see where I am so to speak if I need to do an overtake or show someone who is boss hahaha

So I’ve sorted the oil temp out, coded that it

I don’t have direct tyre pressure monitoring installed, the options aren’t ticked when I check in vcds (clearly someone clicked the wrong button when building)

I cant find anything in the dis to put the seatbelt info back on whilst driving (but I also can’t speak German )

I’ve still not found how to make handbrake activate on P selected

Any other tweaks that are handy? I’ve add the option to service the wipers, what else is worth a look? One thing I do want to find is how to delay how often the headlight washers wash, in this crappy weather and having to clear screen more often they are spraying all the time

All cars will have passive tpms which works off the abs. Basically it sense that the wheels are turning at different speeds so it flags a warning of low pressure. Active tpms have sensors at the wheels. Make sure you haven’t turned off the passive ones.
another thing is if you flick the stalk to wash/spray the windscreen rather than hold it till it squirts that will stop the headlights spraying until the 5th time.
Interesting things to add via vcds is drl control, alarm sound in the MMI menu, think there’s a few more. Will check when I’m out next.

Lots of threads on the forum detailing vcds mods.

Here’s a useful post from DJAlix with a few common mods.

What year ? Does it have hill hold ? If in P and you switch off it should activate the handbrake.

Ok so maybe I should have read the instruction manual for hill hold :p I assumed the brakes applied for a few seconds was hill hold, no it’s a different system that is activated with a button and displays a little P symbol on the dash when it’s ‘holding’

I’ve now clicked said butting and can confirm the handbrake does auto apply when you turn off the engine, and I much prefer the car not trying to creep forward in traffic etc

love my new car ❤️❤️
