Thanks Rob,

Rear springs were replaced a few years ago for the MOT as one had failed apparently. I don’t think I’ll touch them tbh, shocks/springs would cost a more than half the cars worth I’m sure spacers are an interesting idea though.

Agree on the SE, I’ve seen Special Ed’ shortened to SE numerous times. Having had a company car that was a Polo SE - I appreciated what an SE really is ha.

I think black/silver are top for me. Never seen a red one - only in RS4/S4 guise. That’s 100% a silver Special Ed in my town - wonder if they are on here.

I also think the orange indicators make it look messy - but not something changeable pre 07/08? Unless I get new units (not broke don’t fix etc). My first car, a Clio was easy to de-yolk the headlights!

Now I’m not in such a bad mood with it, here’s mine. 2.0t Avant SE.

I always think mine looks a little less nicer than others, something doesn’t look quiet right - it has the saggy **** end and the front looks too high with no splitter. Think it’s also the most underwhelming colour!
Tow bar needs to come off too (my poor shins)

I do enjoy it though when its running well!

Hi Conneh - I have a relatively simple, subtle (& cheap) fix for the splitter - try getting a roll of Adhesive Splitter (the pic shows a carbon fibre lookalike but I used plain black) off fleabay. It sounds cheap n nasty but I was quite pleased with the result after I was finished!
And, by the way, I rather like the colour your motah is!

Adhesive Splitter
Front Splitter finished

Smart that! Never heard of roll of splitter before, interesting. The ronals with the ride height sorted and honeycomb grill do look rather dashing.

looks nice chap, also red which is my favourite colour. :thumbs up:
All Audi's break I'm afraid and can also be a real pain in the backside, but hey that's life with older cars.

best of luck with it, hopefully, you won't have too many issues.

Hopefully. Its only done 99.5k so hopefully that will help. My s3 is on 217k so thats the issue with that. Needs fods and a power steering pump now. Had to have head rebuilt 3months ago too

Hi Blade, nice - like the Red - a surprisingly rare colour, I don't see it very often on A4s - or maybe it's just me.......
I love my Audi but, like Rob says, they do break. Quite regularly. Not such a disaster if, like me, you do all your own repairs/mods but can get expensive if you need to go to a garage all the time. :icon thumright:

Hi. Yea its already broke and needs a new manifold the swirl flap motor has stopped working. But hopefully get it sorted through the waranty. Didnt really see these s lines but since getting it theres a silver ine a red one and a black one near me. Ive got a guy who does the repairs i cant do. Had the cambelt snap after the waterpump failed on my s3 and bent 16valves. Its now nackerd again with a broke power steering pump and i think a bent rod but hopefully get it sorted at some point.

I've been away for a while but now i'm back in an S4. I've been looking for a low owner, low mileage manual S4 Avant for ages now but haven't been able to find one. So i decided that a saloon would do and today stuck a deposit down on a really, really clean S4 saloon. Only 90k, 2 owners, full Audi service history.

More pictures to come once i collect it next weekend

My 2.0 TFSI 2005
147kw but looking to get a stage 1 tune soon. 103k miles Cam belt and waterpump being done on the 12th April due to very random coolant loss. Had the plastic manifold and pipes done at the back of the block.
Noticed the engine mounts have died and left there red blood like fluid all around the outside, so fitting then tomorrow... should have been today but Euro CP missed the order
Changed the drop links as thought that was the noise I could hear that's when I realized the mounts were shot.
Next on the list is the dredded control arms. There is a little bit of play that I don't thing is right, so I made an attempt at removing that top bolt.... sure as he'll, despite soaking and air hammer, I could see that the head was moving ever so slightly.... but the threads ohh nope. Another tiny tweak, head moved 1mm.. threads nope... going to ask the guys in April if they think it need changing..... of course there gonna say yes... they want my money ahaha

Welcome to the forum chap.
You'll find everything B7 and more in the B7 section so take a look when you get a chance.
Other members will always try to assist with problem solutions and info where possible, maybe not straight away but a reply won't be too far away.

Enjoy.

Thought it was about time I got some better pics of the S4 up on here. Finally got around to fitting my Pioneer carplay unit and some wind deflectors. I have recently been reminded how poor the rain gutters are on these cars and how slowly the window goes up as the water pours in so hopefully the wind deflectors will help with that.

Thanks I have posted in the retro fit puddle lights as I have an issue with one rear door... but no takers yet.
Have also recently come across a central locking from the key issue... sometimes won't lock from the key even though the light on the key is responding to pressing the button????

Looks very nice, i see one thing that you may have missed though, but maybe your choice to leave them.

Considering having the mtms redone (6 months after having them black)in a hyper silver or chrome ,make them stand out a bit more

My ozs were due in today for the repaint but put back as they are short-staffed and behind with other jobs, but I'm starting to wonder maybe i'll keep them as is .
washed the old bus on Sat and with the new rear offset they do kinda look good, well when clean that is.

Half the problem with alloy wheels and the car is how they look against darker colours.

The OZ's are Audi anthracite and in good daylight when clean look stunning, but at the same time they do seem to reflect the black paintwork so can also look very dark under certain conditions, so maybe staying in the darker spectrum won't help as they will still be likely look darker in different light conditions whereas silver is always a bright colour to start with.

Have you considered S4 blades James?

I haven’t as yet ,are they a good bit chunkier ?
I certainly be interested if I came across the right colour and price
At the min though it’s down on the list of priorities next thing on the list is a cat back or back box delete ,quad tips and s4 rear valance

They are noticeably chunkier James, not easy finding a decent set that doesn't have corroded mounts though, and not silly expensive "S4" price tag.

If you do decide to go this route just a couple of things to be on the lookout for.
1, the metal frame work is all ok and not rusted and blown and 2, the plastic slide on mounting lugs are undamaged.

Looks great.
What coilovers did you opt for?

I went to the budget end of the market and used the JOM coil overs from Euro Car Parts. They seem the best of the budget kits and are TUV approved.
I was just going to fit a set of H&R springs but the last time I used them on the S4 Avant I wasn’t really satisfied with the ride height and look. The JOM kit wasn’t much more expensive than just the H&R springs and I could fine tune the ride height.
I am very pleasantly surprised how the car rides, it rides as well as the car did on the standard dampers and springs.
