My miles remaining 'dial' seems to have been stuck at 510miles for the past 35-40 miles over 2-3 trips in the car, despite doing variety of mpgs ranging from 42mpg to 52mpg (each trip/short term mpg). Is this another gremlin or it tends to max out for a bit once after tank has been filled to max (actually once the tank 'clicked' I filled to the nearest full £)? Car is 30TFSI MHEV.

I had this with my current and previous A3 it just takes the computer a little while to work out the ranges, do a few more miles and you will see it start to level off.

After a couple of pain free weeks I’m back to error messages. Lane keeping failure, start stop failure and pre sense fault today. Ready to just trade it in.

Mine's been pretty problem free (touch wood). I've had the MMI rebooting on each of the 4 occasions I've been over the Thelwall viaduct on the M6. This seems a location specific glitch as others have said.

Well this time I drove straight to dealer with the lights on as I happened to be dropping my mother off for a long hospital appointment. They said they saw the fault code and the software told them to apply another update which they’ve done. Let’s see…

i checked a few german a3 forums and they all have the same problem. probably just have to sit tight and wait for the recall.

well another thirty miles and I’ve now got the emergency sos fault. At least it’s a new one to keep me interested.

Just reposting this for those new to the car and may have missed the workaround / fixes for the SOS and mmi reboots:

Well it’s finally happened. The electrical gremlins have stated. After 2 1/2 months trouble free motoring I now have 2 issues.
The first has happened 4 times over the last 2 weeks where when the car is first entered on a morning and started the MMI screen stays blank. The radio is still playing and the functions of the MMI still appear to work. The cockpit shows that the audio, nav and the phone are stuck on initiating. The problem can be rectified by holding the power button on the centre console. This points to a software issue if a reset brings the screen back on and not a hardware issue with the screen itself.
Second problem is the electrical fault where the cockpit displays the faults of drive system fault, electrical system fault and start system fault. This has happened twice and both times I have turned the car off and back on and it has cleared.

Adding to the evidence that the sos fault is location based it’s now happened for the second time around Trafford park which is where it happened first time.
