RS3 Configuration (let's see what you've got then)

Go exclusive colour. £2400 but Audi have robbed us all of all other choices and relative to the overall cost, it’s not too bad IMO.

I visited local Audi centre yesterday to look at colours, blimey, Tango Red certainly is very vibrant, shame it doesnt have Misano :(

There was an S line A3 in Daytona, I thought that looked nice on the A3 as a 'safe' colour

How come people are saying the green is a free choice? Doesn’t come up that option for me and says it’s £575

Kemora only free colour

Yup just been flicking through the colour options.
Cannot find a colour that I like that suits that front end.
The black gloss grill surround completely dominates the front end.
It almost reminds me of when you see a car with a bumper off a different coloured car, just looks odd.
From side on it also gives the impression the overhang from the front of the tyre to the nose tip is longer than the 8V

thats where I think Daytona does work - on the car as a whole but blending in that grill surround.

Daytona is (or used to be) a nice colour, but it bores my socks off.
I've got an M4 in mineral grey, which is pretty much BMW's version of Daytona.... a nice paint colour but now as interesting as watching paint dry.

Choosing from the colours on offer for the RS3 feels like a case of picking the lesser of eight evils....

Audi salesman: "And that's your order complete Sir. Out of interest, why did you choose that colour?"
Me: "It's the one I hated least."

used to be lol
I've never had daytona grey so to me its fresh and modern, but yeah on a BMW it would bore me too pmsl
I did own a Bimmer once, new 3 series 330i around 2006.
Lovely straight six engine and silky smooth manual.
But that was grey too and I got shut early as to look at that bored me too :tearsofjoy:

Is it £2400 lovely tho that's the question :grimacing:
Absolutely not :tearsofjoy:
The exclusive paint price is ridiculous but I do agree the standard paint choices are very limited.
Think back to when we were offered misano red, sepang blue, suzuka grey, floret silver etc.
Now its black, grey, white or some other dodgy colours :tearsofjoy:

Yes I feel out of the colours available I would just be settling for a colour rather than really wanting it unfortunately .

ha ha. That would be easy for me... Lapiz Blue again

But then it does count against it (Golf) as I already have a Golf R in that colour. I am sort of keen to have a different shade or colour for next car.

I'm going round in circles, as all these tales of long wait does put me off Exclusive but then my choice seems to be Tango Red or Daytona Grey. As mentioned above, I start thinking what could be best when come to sell on and I looked into which colours were most for sale on Autotrader which was were I got my rough figures for each colour from. Red isn't a popular choice, so it rather puts me off and sends me to Daytona. Which is a good pearl effect grey and as Snake says looks good woth black grille....but then I think I would only really be happy with Sepang or similar, so its back to Exclusive.

I guess I’m lucky I’ve always liked Daytona but never had it so at least it’s a new colour choice for me.

plus it works well with the car as noted and even more so the carbon bits imo

New MK8R looks well in white in my opinion.

I'm not ***** either way. It's what I want so it's what I've ordered and if it does ****** up resale interest then there's always the dealer who will take it back.

I've had White, and Daytona and went from that to Navarra, so logically what else is there to go for.

Red, nah.
Yellow, nah.
Black is nice but nah
White again nah
Turbo nah.

etc...

The spec options fit what I wanted so I'm not desperate, and wasn't desperate when I bought my S3 either. I only wanted Sports Exhaust and Matrix Headlights. Have ended up speccing up the extra Comfort and Sound pack for Bang and Olufsen and would've had pan roof if my budget stretched to it so I'm happy with it. Only last week you said you'll be ordering one yourself. :blahblah1:

that is an over exaggeration !

Other than missing the interior design pack I’m quite happy with a carbon saloon with comfort & sound pack

Chester Today, 3 out of 4 available, I'd go white again, it just looks more aggressive, I'm still pulled towards Golf 8R, my spec would be about £48K, DTD would drop that to £41500, it's £18 K cheaper than a Vorsprung, that a fair wedge :)

I too would have gone white and i nearly did but decided to wait for the RS3 sound.

From a detailing point of view yes white is very unrewarding plus l don't like white saloons but on a hatchback with lots of black trim and a panoramic roof to break up the white/contrast yes they can look good

Oh it’s tempting especially when you can add the individual options. I’ve got used to the exterior of new Golf R but it’s the interior I have most of my problems with. I don’t like stuck on screen look (although Golf no where near as bad as some cars) also lack of buttons with so much on the touch screen.
I like the A3/RS3 screen integration into the dash and separate climate controls. Not to mention buttons on steering wheel. Then there’s the 5 cylinder engine. So win win but then they screwed up the option list choice and paint choices and wheel selection and seat selection .
But apart from that I am sold on the RS3

It's a weird one how time changes your view,
I am/was also not convinced over Golf 8R looks...................until Today, it was very much like a flashback to 1994, there I was stood at reception at Porsche AG waiting for a factory tour (I had a 964 C4 at the time) watching all the 993's go out on test and back in some 20 minutes later, dont like, dont like, dont like, as they went in and out and then out goes a 964.....................that looks old I thought

Same thing today, I had a look at the white car (I have had 2 test drives) mainly to see the interior again, looked all over it, wifey looked as well and then we went back to out Golf7.5R, parked next to it was a new GTI in white, I looked at ours and thought.......that looks old now........weird
