RS3 countdown to configurator

What spec did you end up going for mate? I think the Alu pack has always looked good on the S and RS models so its a shame that there isn't much flexibility in options - perhaps this is due to the chip shortage so may see this change in the future but no one knows when and if this will happen.

If you don't mind sharing what are your finance terms? would be good to know the GFV aswell to see where they picture the value of these to be in the years to come..
Standard Rs3
Daytona Gray . As it goes well with the Alu pack imo
Comfort and sound pack
Alu Roof rails .
Also wanted the design pack / sports exhaust / Matrix lights :3sadwalk:

£189.89 a month over 48 months with a big deposit

that’s exactly why my plan is get a 5 cylinder now & then spec up the face lift to perfection so I can keep that one indefinitely
Plus start up yer own YouTube Channel.....first vlog ...How to get over the size of that wheel...........lol

Whilst there is widespread disappointment ... I think we need to remember there is still a lot of good stuff to enjoy.

By getting the vorsprung my only gripes are the steering wheel and lack of interior design pack.

All of the kit I really wanted - mag ride, sports exhaust, pan roof, B&O, is all there. I’m hoping the seats / interior has the rock grey contrast stitching and if so that will break it up imo and I never had a design pack in my last RS3 so in reality I won’t miss it.

Finally the price ... there was talk last week of it costing £70k .... well it’s nowhere near and is directly pitched against the Merc A45s and that is only available in 2 options again with limited add on options.

So overall I’ve absolutely no doubt I will really enjoy this car. It’s far from the disappointment many are dwelling on ... we’ve FINALLY got an RS3 again so happy days :icon thumright:

Nice spec - daytona grey does look like it goes really well with the design :thumbs up:

£189? Must have been a big deposit. What's the balloon payment at the end?

My preference would be the wheels off the carbon edition to be honest

The alloys will go really well against Daytona personally .... it looks great;
& sure beats bl%%dy rotors :tearsofjoy:

Does anyone have any idea when we are likely to see some motor journalist reviews? I’d be keen to see a few before placing an order.

The last few days the threads have been manic leading up to the configuratior, everyone hyped seeing the car in the Euro spec.
Then here comes the Uk spec and ****** on everyone’s bonfire, mine included.
I would have happily hopped skipped and jumped down to the dealers knowing I’d get no discounts and handed my cash over for the car specced like what other countries are been offered.
Audi have shafted the Uk with this Rs3
The vorsprung looks amazing value for the money…. Not really it’s prob listed at the right price, it only looks good value because of the lack of options on the carbon edition.
They have played a blinder, price on vorsprung then huge mark up on carbon, but just enough for people to think hmmmm for a extra cple of grand I can have all options included, so they pay the extra and Audi get more money, and the ones who like the look of the carbon are paying over the odds. Then they give everyone but the Uk the nice design pack…. And prob give us that in a few years time as a facelift and mark that price up as well.
I was all in but I’ve got a sport edition saloon fully loaded… all driver assist packages and a sports steering that is flat .
I’m keeping my money, and to the Audi executive who had the last word on the UK spec….. your a bit of a c*nt !!

I think that sums the reality of today very well. I had come to terms with basic trim, I thought I could live with those 10 spoke wheels and the aluminium trim is pretty tasteful this time, but the lack of options esp interior design pack has definitely dented enthusiasm.

Snake is right, it’s good to have the RS3 back, but after seeing all the options on German configurator it does seem like we have been short changed massively.

Prior to this week, I’d been studying the RS Q3 to get an idea what might make it on each trim with respective options per trim. Well that was was a waste of time as pretty much nothing equates on the configurator with what we have to work with on the RS3.

Maybe for MY 2023 there will be an array of options available but waiting for a FL seems like a dangerous option with the way things are heading.

But the delay at least allows more money to be saved.up.

I think European Launch will be Oct/November 21 and UK cars probably about Feb/March so probably and few LHD cars to review but then a gap before the fancy Launch Edition cars are let loose on UK roads.

What does anyone else think?

I Know what you mean…. I went from a A45 to a 19 plate sport edition, I got a cracking discount and every option bar ceramic brakes.
I was on a total high picking it up, if I go into the dealers to look into this model I’m sort of I can take it I’d leave it attitude.
I think I’ll wait to see it in the flesh before deciding if I wanna make the jump, at the min I’m not too fussed, it’s not as if I’m driving round in a bag of crap, I’m still getting the buzz off the sport edition

The lack of interest/ disappointment on this thread alone since the configuratior opened.
I think all rs3 owners who were willing to trade up and new potential buyers who saw all the vids and photos of the European model are *****d off now, I wonder how many are thinking I’m just gonna hang on or not bother.
I wonder if it reflects on Audis sales predictions for this model against say when the 8v facelift or 2019 sport edition was launched

Disappointing but not unsurprising given the focus on cost cutting across the whole of the VAG group

in absolute terms Uk sales numbers will be relatively small v the combined total of lhd markets and even in the uk RS3 accounts for less than 1% of audi total sales.

Hopefully no of options will improve over time but suspect some will not be economical viable to ever bring to the Uk.

on the positive side the low volumes mean they keep their value well and given the move to electric these are going become increasingly desirable to own

Vorsprung delivers a lot of car for the money and Compared to the equivalent TTRS the Vorsprung looks an absolute bargin.

Coming from the AMG45s I am seriously underwhelmed looking at that cabin. The press releases where amazing very on par with the Merc no doubt the drive will be awesome but these options are terrible plain black seats with no flat bottom steering wheel. I’m rattled

He filmed that video most likely well before the UK configurator was up and he probably isn’t even aware that it is different.

Only from his dealer calling him will he know as he clearly isn’t reading and replying to comments.

I am currently uploading my video at the dealer. It is a very dry video but I feel like its exactly what everyone in here will love!

It is just me unfortunately sitting in front of the configurator! I couldn’t get a salesperson to come on it. For some reason the only people working were all new employees who didn’t know what matrix LEDs were… and my sales guy was busy.

Not happy with the UK configurator options, I was afraid there'd be a carbon option between the standard and vorsprung that would essentially split the options you might want (Carbon Spoiler and Jet black wheels for example on the vorsprung)
